Brand, Perry to have Hindu wedding ceremony

According to reports, Russell Brand and Katy Perry will have a traditional Hindu wedding ceremony tomorrow at the Sher Bagh Resort adjoining Ranthambhore National Park in India. Hindu statesman Rajan Zed said reports suggested many of the traditional pre-wedding Hindu rituals were being followed. Perry had been spotted wearing a traditional nose ring which is removed by the groom on the wedding night; she was planning to decorate parts of her body with myrtle paste; Brand plans to arrive on a white horse at the wedding venue; and a Hindu priest has been hired to perform the ceremony. A handful of local women from Ranthambhore have made 165 pouches, which will be filled with spices and given to wedding guests. Brand is reportedly attracted to Hinduism; he has a Sanskrit tattoo and has made visits to a Hindu temple. His catchphrase is “Hare Krishna” and Mahatma Gandhi is reportedly one of his heroes. He has been quoted as saying: “I’m into yoga, I meditate all the time, I’m vegetarian.”
