Brittany MurphyNo illegal drugs were found in Brittany Murphy’s system at the time of her death, new documents have revealed. The 32-year-old actress passed away after suffering an apparent cardiac arrest at the Los Angeles home she shared with her husband Simon Monjack and mother Sharon Murphy in December. The Los Angeles Coroner’s Office released the full autopsy report for the actress yesterday, including a list of every medication she was using – all of which were over-the-counter prescription drugs. A spokesperson from the Coroner’s office made the following statement: “Multiple medications were present in the blood, with elevated levels of hydrocodone, acetaminophen, and chlorpheniramine. L-methamphetamine was also present… It should be noted that the pattern of use of these medications suggest treatment of symptoms of a cold or other respiratory infection. Acetaminophen and hydrocodone are components of Vicodin. Chlorpheniramine is the active ingredient in some over-the-counter medications. L-methamphetamine is a component of some inhalers.” An autopsy report released earlier this month showed Brittney died of a combination of complications from pneumonia and anemia, with prescription drug intoxication a secondary factor. Brittany’s husband Simon spoke out after the findings were made public, saying in a statement to RadarOnline, “We are vindicated in that we always said Brittany never did any kind of illegal substances and that the medication she was taking was the medication found in her system and we hope now that people will understand the legacy of Brittany Murphy and the incredible body of work of Brittany Murphy.”

I loved her acting. I’m glad that it wasn’t illegal, but the poor girl was so thin and perhaps she did have an eating disorder. But whatever the reason, she is gone. RIP Brittany
