Canadian Music Week

Canadian Music Week (CMW) is coming to downtown Toronto for its 31st year. A stellar week full of music conferences, shows, films, and concerts, CMW has become one of North America’s main music/entertainment related events. The Canadian Music Fest is six nights with 1,000 bands scheduled to perform at more than 60 live music venues.

The CMW Film Fest is held at TIFF Bell Lightbox (located at Reitman Square, 350 King Street West) showing a variety of world premieres and early screenings from March 21-23, 2013.

People will have the chance to catch an early screening of Harmony Korine’s Spring Breakers, starring James Franco, and Disney stars Selena Gomez and Vanessa Hudgens. Ron Chapman’s Who the F**k is Arthur Fogel? will be making its world premiere as well as The Last Pogo Jumps Again. Filmmakers Colin Brunton and Kire Paputts will also be in attendance.

Jacob Hatley’s Ain’t In It For My Health: A Film About Levon Helm, Benjamen Logan and Mandy Steinand’s Band-Brains: A Band in DC and Big Star: Nothing Can Hurt Me directed by Drew DeNicola are making their Canadian premieres. Making their Toronto premieres are Apocalypse: A Bill Callahan Tour Film directed by Hanly Banks and John Mitchell and Jeremy Kipp Walker’s The History of Future Folk.
