Chernobyl Diaries gets release date

Chernobyl Diaries may finally have a release date. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Alcon Entertainment, which releases its films through Warner Bros., has picked up the distribution rights for the latest horror movie from Paranormal Activity‘s Oren Peli. The rights include distribution in North America, Germany, Spain and Japan. The movie is set to open on Memorial Day weekend this year. Chernobyl Diaries is set in Prypiat, Ukraine and follows a group of friends who are stranded in the abandoned city only to find that those affected by the Chernobyl nuclear reactor, never truly left. The film was financed and sold internationally by FilmNation Entertainment. ~Rodrigo Cokting
