Chris Brown facing robbery charges

By Alexandra Heilbron on February 24, 2012 | 21 Comments

Chris Brown may be charged with “Robbery By Sudden Snatching,” which is considered a third degree “violent” felony, after he stole a woman’s smartphone outside a Miami Beach nightclub. Christal Spann, 24, told police that she and her friends spotted Brown leaving the club through a side door, so they followed him to the street, where he got into a black Bentley. She took a photo with her iPhone 4S of the singer sitting in the car. According to the police report filed by Ms. Spann, Brown reached out and snatched the phone from her hands, saying, “Bitch, you ain’t going to put that on no website.” He then rolled up his car window and drove off with the iPhone. As yet, no arrests have been made, but according to E!Online, the Florida State Attorney’s Office is preparing to place a warrant out for the singer. Theft is a serious violation of Brown’s probation for his felony assault on Rihanna. If he is found guilty, he could have his probation revoked and may be facing a five-year term in prison.

Ummm… Not like I like the guy or his music – and I assaulting anybody (whether it be Rihanna etc.) is despicable…. However, could “Christal Spann” perhaps be fabricating this story, or skewed the facts?

It’s not like we’re going to get the REAL facts from a column from tribute.ca. 🙂

    Just saying…

Why are all of you talking out of pure ignorance. Trevor, your comment made me laugh, your hate towards him makes you lash out and associate him with something he is not even apart of, you sound laughably stupid. Chris brown is not a rapper…. he’s an R&B artist, he does not “rap” on his songs, he sings, always. The only time he ever tried to rap was on “Look at me now” and that was just to feature the talents of the other two artists on that track, Busta Rhythms even states on the track that he is “going to show him how to get the dice rolling” meaning…. how to rap….

So next time you lash out at someone you don’t even know because you hate him…. try to leave the rest of your ignorance out of the comment, or maybe grow up a bit.

Chris – I absolutely agree. The comment from Trevor is completely ignorant. Having said that, I think Chris Brown has serious anger management issues! Instead of stupid people encouraging his behavior, by supporting his music and letting him “peform” in high profile places, shut him down and punish him to the full extent of the law!!

Just another black guy that can’t stay out of trouble. Rihanna should be kicking that loser to the curb. He’s nothing but a leach and will use her until she has nothing left for him to take. Then he’ll be on to the next sucker ‘biotch’.

Your dislike of the genre is mutually exclusive of Chris Brown being a pathetic fool.

I know that celebs Don’t like their picture taken, But wouldn’t be Nice if we could take one picture of them in a genuine way. They are in the spotlight a lot at times. It would be impossible to get to know them so without going nuts about it, we could share that Time in the past that could never be repeated again with them. It would give such a Positive lift to people’s Life and help keep them Positive!

The reason he said he took her smartphone was because he Didn’t want the picture of himself on the Internet. Would YOU LIKE someone Doing that To YOU. No I didn’t think so. But in all Reality, he should have made arrangements to give it back to her, and if he so choose delete his pic. off her cell phone, or arrange for her to do it! When celebs get together and tell us its OK to take a pic. of them then it’ll Be OK. But untill then, its Still Wrong no matter How you tell the story! We all Know, theres such a thing called Respect that we can Ask People, celebs or not, if we can take their picture.

Would YOU LIKE someone stealing your stuff, and verbally insulting YOU?

This clown’s a celebrity, and people like to take celebrity photos. If you don’t want to have your pictures taken than chose a different line of work.

If Chris Brown stopped to let that person take his photo that person might actually buy his album, go to his concert, and tell her friends how nice he was; instead, he decided to let his stupidity shine once more.

I thought somebody was charging him for stealing all Of Michael jackson’s moves

  19. J.R. • February 27, 2012 @ 2:46 PM

Many different artists were influenced by the late, great Michael Jackson and besides, just about everyone or just about everything was influenced by someone or something or someone and something.I think it`s what one makes out of all those different influences, that matters. The Late King Of Pop was influenced by others that had come before him, too. But Chris Brown was never on the level of a Michael Jackson as a performer and as a singer/song-writer. Bordrey`s post sounded dangerously close to being racially stereotypical. There are a lot of Minorities that stay out of trouble and stay on the right side of the law and the last I heard,Chris Brown was not-and damned sure,is not, representative of all black people.I personally think young Mr.Brown is a a very confused and very angry, troubled young man who isn`t too bright and who should seek out some kind of professional help.As for Rihanna,I had a University Professor who used to work as a Police Officer in both Canada and The U.S. and he told us about how he would see cases of domestic abuse all the time where the woman would take the man back and the man had supposedly changed..until the woman would end up beaten again or end up dead and I don`t think abusive men like Mr.Brown change that easily and they certainly usually don`t without some kind of help, too.

But both Mr.Brown and Rihanna are adults and make their own decisions..but yeah,I can`t say that Rihanna associating with someone who beat the daylights out of her is that smart.I don`t think either one of them are that bright, frankly. You could get arrested and thrown in jail for beating a dog the way Chris Brown beat Rihanna,so if Brown can`t stay out of trouble, maybe some jail time might be what he needs. But Brown and Rihanna getting back together again or whatever it is they`re doing,is their business…but if he beats her again,it`s The Law`s business, too. But,hopefully, there won`t be a ”next time”where such an incident rears it`s ugly head once again.

Is this kid in jail yet??

  21. NomNom • March 13, 2012 @ 9:46 AM

Chris Brown has serious issues. He handles everything like a child would. I think throwing him in prison would be a great move. Maybe then he would learn to man up and handle problems like an adult.
