Christina Aguilera confirms marriage split

Christina Aguilera has confirmed she has separated from her husband Jordan Bratman. The couple met in 2002, married in 2005 and have a two-year-old son, Max. Yesterday, reports began to surface that the couple were separated. Christina has now confirmed them, issuing a brief statement. “Although Jordan and I are separated, our commitment to our son Max remains as strong as ever,” she said. It is thought the pair decided to part ways awhile ago, with Jordan moving out of their family home. According to reports, Christina, 29, was so busy while shooting her new movie Burlesque she had to spend prolonged periods away from her husband. Last month, she went to Mexico with a group of women including Nicole Richie and Samantha Ronson – believed to be for Nicole’s bachelorette party – which is also said to have caused tension at home. “There were already problems between her and her husband, but things got worse after her girls’ trip,” a source told the New York Post.

Another piece of sad breakup news this week – these two have been together for awhile as well. Wonder if they’ll reconcile?

Yeah, that kid is cute. I think people are breaking up because they don’t work at the relationship. You have to give, not just take, and I don’t think a lot of people were brought up with concept.

awww, he is really cute! Maddy, I think you’re right – especially in the celebrity world it seems like they don’t want to work at it. (And they always say that the pressures/demands of being famous also affects their relationships.) In that world, being married/in a relationship for more than five years seems to be a big achievement!

    @ Maddy and others

I hardly think that is the case. To be honest it likely has to do with different ideas of how couples should act. Either he is an extremely jealous person (as he should be because she doesn’t match him) or she believes the couple should do things separately and he doesn’t. Either way a relationship like that is bound to fail.
