Check out which films made the top five at the weekend box office August 24 to 26, 2018!
Romantic comedies are finally back and viewers are loving it! Crazy Rich Asians had a strong second weekend, dropping only 5.7 percent from last weekend and once again finishing in the top spot, with $25 million for a domestic total of $76.8 million.
The Meg, starring Jason Statham, took second place, earning $13 million for a domestic total of $105.3 million.
The Happytime Murders debuted in third place, earning $10 million. It follows a puppet detective (Bill Barretta) and his human partner (Melissa McCarthy) who try to find a serial killer targeting the cast of a 1980s television series.
Mission: Impossible – Fallout, starring Tom Cruise and Henry Cavill, took fourth place, with an additional $8 million and an impressive domestic total of $193.9 million after five weeks.
Rounding out the top five was Disney’s Christopher Robin, earning an additional $6.3 million for a domestic total of $77.6 million.
