Disney reveals details on nine new live-action films

Fairies flitter about, pixie dust glistens in the air and the magical creatures characteristic to Disney films awaken.
Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures has just announced the development of nine new live-action projects set to be released in the next four years.
Leading the charge is Maleficent 2, which will return Angelina Jolie to the screen in the title role. There’s also Cruella, which will feature Emma Stone as the Dalmatian-obsessed villain; Dumbo, which Tim Burton will take the reins on; Ava DuVernay‘s A Wrinkle in Time; Jungle Cruise, which will star Dwayne Johnson; a Mary Poppins sequel by Rob Marshall with Emily Blunt in the central role; Lasse Hallström‘s The Nutcracker and the Four Realms; Jon Favreau‘s The Jungle Book 2; and a Tinker Bell picture with Reese Witherspoon.
The announcement of the films comes in the wake of a successful second weekend at the box office for The Jungle Book. Since its April 15 release, the studio’s live-action adaptation of the 1967 classic has garnered a colossal $533 million at the global box office.
It’s important to note that 
at a time when Hollywood is being (rightly) scrutinized for its lack of female-backed films, five of the nine Disney projects just unveiled are written by women and five are female-led fantasy tales.
Since the monumental success of 2010’s Alice in Wonderland, which earned a wondrous $1.025 billion worldwide, the studio has made some serious investments in its live-action re-imaginings that it has capitalized on. Drawing on the tale of Sleeping Beauty, 2014’s Maleficent raked in $758.5 million and 2015’s Cinderella picked up $542.7 million, along with her glass slipper, of course.
Before any of the nine newly announced pictures hit screens, fans of Disney’s live-action films can look forward to Alice Through the Looking Glass on May 27, 2016; Pete’s Dragon on August 12, 2016; and Beauty and the Beast on March 17, 2017.

I can see Jungle book 2 and Maleficent 2 and pretty much the rest except a Mary Poppins part 2. PLEASE don’t mess with an extreme classic. It never works out. Emily Blunt is already in a Snow White-ish movie in the Huntsman as a Queen. It’s not worth it Disney, it’s just not.
I need to buy stock in Disney. Since they bought Star Wars and Marvel, and now with all these live action movies, they are raking in money hand over fist!
