A shocking video tape of David Hasselhoff, made by his 16-year-old daughter Taylor, has aired on Extra. Obviously drunk, Hasselhoff is rolling around on the floor in a Las Vegas hotel. The girl can be heard pleading, “Tell me you’re going to stop.”
Hasselhoff, who awkwardly tries to stuff bits of a hamburger into his mouth, dutifully mumbles, “I’m going to stop.”
Taylor asks, “Promise?” To which her father replies, “No.”
Taylor continues pleading: “You throw your life away by drinking. Why do you like doing this to yourself?”
The celebrity answers, “Because I’m lonely and I have trouble in my life.”
As a last resort, Taylor begs him: “Tell me you’re going to stop drinking. Tell me right now. Or I’m not going to talk to you ever again. And I will totally disown you, because it’s not fair to your family, what you’re doing.”
Hasselhoff mutters, “I’ll be fine.”
In a statement, Hasselhoff tried to put the blame on his ex-wife, Pamela Bach, saying, “I have seen the tape. I have learned from it, and I am back on my game… The tape made by my children was never meant to become public but was obviously released by my estranged wife, who has her own agenda.”
A spokesman for Bach told the New York Post’s Page Six: “That seems kind of ridiculous.”
