Elle Macpherson Elle Macpherson is rushing to her ex-boyfriend's bedside after a helicopter crash. The supermodel is jetting off to Miami to comfort her multi-millionaire former flame Jeffrey Soffer, who is recovering from surgery after being injured in a tragic aircraft accident while on holiday in the Bahamas -- the accident killed his friend Lance Valdez. A source told the New York Post newspaper: "Jeff is very shaken up and mourning the loss of his friend. Elle is landing in Miami imminently to visit him and offer her support at a very tough time." The model dated the Florida businessman for years, only splitting in March, but Elle has since moved on to wealthy financier Roger Jenkins. She will be visiting Jeffrey at his Miami home as he recovers from several injuries, including fractured vertebrae. The 49-year-old beauty was also a close friend of Lance's and is thought to be attending his funereal in the Bahamas this weekend (01.12.12). She tweeted after the accident: "Miss you Lance." The helicopter - which was also carrying one of Jeffrey's employees Dan Riordan and his wife Paula - came crashing down at the Baker's Bay Golf & Ocean Club on Great Guana Cay in the Abacos Island chain on Thanksgiving Day. The Bahamas Ministry of Transportation and Aviation's preliminary report into the incident stated: "While attempting to land, control was lost, resulting in ... a crash-landing."
