Emma Watson takes legal action after photos leaked

Beauty and the BeastEmma Watson seeks legal action after photos leaked online star Emma Watson is fighting back after she was hacked and private photos of the actress trying on clothes were leaked online.

The photos appeared on an anonymous message board which led to social media chatter that alerted the actress to the photos being leaked. Actress Amanda Seyfried was also mentioned as having photos appearing along with Emma’s.

A spokesperson for Emma told BBC news, “Photos from a clothes fitting Emma had with a stylist a couple of years ago have been stolen. They are not nude photographs. Lawyers have been instructed and we are not commenting further.”

The UN Women goodwill ambassador has also recently been in the news for taking criticisms regarding what some deem an inappropriate photo spread with Vanity Fair where the actress’ breasts were partially exposed. Some are of the opinion that Emma cannot take photos that revealing, seeing it as objectification of the female body, and fight for feminism at the same time.

While others, including Emma, see the photos having nothing to do with the struggle for equality among the sexes, and that the issue is more about a woman having the right to choose what happens with her body, such as choosing to reveal parts of it should she so desire, without facing scrutiny and backlash.

This is not the first time the Harry Potter film franchise alum has had to deal with her privacy being invaded. In 2014, Emma was the subject of a threat from someone looking to release nude photos of hers after her speech on gender equality.

Sadly, Emma is just another name in a long list of actresses who have had their private photos stolen and displayed for the world to see. Other stars like actress Jennifer Lawrence, model Kate Upton, and singer Ariana Grande made headlines in 2014 as the subject of leaked nude photos from an attack on their iCloud accounts. Two men have recently been charged in the cyber attacks.

The police should pursue these criminals the same way they pursue other hackers. And the justice system should prosecute the criminals and provide an appropriate penalty upon conviction. Public figures have just as much right to be protected from criminals as the rest of us do.

So non-nudes got leaked… Don’t be fooled people, this is totally fabricated news by the studio/Emma’s people in order to get more buzz/talk about Beauty & the Beast.

Seriously, more Emma crap. First of all, they were non-nude photos, when she VOLUNTARILY took partial nudes for a public magazine. I’m with J. Kerr on this one. This seems more like a publicity thing than an actual attack. She’s been under fire for the past two years for SOOOOO many issues; so if this is not to boost the hype for Beauty and the Beast, then it’s to take the heat off her because of her upcoming movies, to make the public feel bad for her instead of coming to the realization that she’s a terrible person on and off the screen.

Really people have nothing better to besides hacking someones private photos!!!
I think it is time to teach all the victims how to better their security on their computer and how to back track an ip address. so we can find these pricks and teach them a lesson of our own.

i thought i was joining an adult conversation but from the ignorant comments on here you guys can be charged with cyber bullying.emma is a good person on and off screen. She is polite and friendly, her staff adores her and she treats them well.she cares about people why do you think she became the goodwill ambassador. you boys sound quite petty with your issues involving emma.

Well said Debbie M ~ most of the negativity can undoubtedly be traced back to individuals with pathetic, empty lives who content themselves spewing poison at people they do not know, nor will ever meet. Privacy is the issue at hand…whether you are in the public eye, or simply some snaggle-toothed nobody who likes to take selfies of themselves with livestock in lingerie.

Thank you Debbie M for your comments and Tess too. I can’t believe some of the comments here! Emma Watson is a wonderful person and an enormous talent and does not deserve to have her private photos stolen. I’m not surprised they weren’t nude photos but only pics of her changing because she’s a class act through and through.
