It was a gory weekend at theaters. Evil Dead, the remake of Sam Raimi’s 1981 film, seized first place at the box office with an estimated $26 million. The film, which has a rating of 3.8/5 stars from Tribute users, was made on a $17 million budget. Tied for second place was G.I. Joe: Retaliation, currently rated 3.6/5, and The Croods, 4.4/5 stars. Both movies took in a total of $21.1 million over the weekend and have impressive worldwide numbers as well – so far, The Croods brought in $333 million while the G.I. Joe sequel grossed $232 million.
Jurassic Park 3D, rated 3.3 stars by Tribute users, opened strongly despite its 4th place box office spot. It took only $10 million to convert the 1993 film into 3D but in its first weekend alone brought in $18.2 million. Universal hopes the re-release of Spielberg’s dinosaur classic will whet appetites for the fourth Jurassic Park installment, due out in 2014. Olympus Has Fallen, rated 3.7/5 stars, raked in another $10 million, finishing only slightly ahead of Tyler Perry’s Temptation: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor.
Overall, it was a good weekend at the box office, which received a boost of nearly 10 per cent over last year’s numbers for the same weekend. The last four spots in the top ten were claimed by Oz: The Great and Powerful, The Host, The Call, and Admission. ~Cassie Jasinski

Playing a blind war veteran, Stephen Lang horrifies audiences in Don’t Breathe. Read our review, watch the trailer and view showtimes for the film, in theaters today.
I was not paying for this movie that my girlfriend wanted to see. So she paid and she was scared. Otherwise the movie just frustrated the hell out of me. And after you see Cabin In The Woods, it’s like this is all a joke now. They are the stereotype, 5 people in a cabin in the middle of nowhere (creepy place and cabin should have collapsed under a single rain drop), and the basement and the damn book is wrapped in barbed wire and made of flesh!!! The dead cats, use your head people! Bring your sister to a rehab clinic idiots. Grrrrrrrrr.
I saw this movie during the weekend. It was all just blood and gore, was NOT scary at all. Majority of us in the theater were laughing at a few parts lol
