Former Disney Channel star Lee Thompson Young has died at the age of 29, according to TMZ. Young was supposed to be busy filming his TNT television show Rizzoli & Isles today, but he failed to show up so the landlord of his Los Angeles home was contacted to check up on him. The landlord found Lee’s body with a gunshot wound that officials tell TMZ appeared to be self-inflicted. Lee’s manager and publicist Jonathan Baruch released the following statement to TMZ: “It is with great sadness that I announce that Lee Thompson Young tragically took his own life this morning. Lee was more than just a brilliant young actor, he was a wonderful and gentle soul who will be truly missed. We ask that you please respect the privacy of his family and friends as this very difficult time.” Lee had roles in various television shows, such as FlashForward, South Beach and Smallville and also appeared in the 2004 movie Friday Night Lights. However, he is perhaps best known to audiences for his breakout title role in Disney’s The Famous Jett Jackson from 1998 to 2001. ~Alfonso Espina

Depression left untreated has deadly consequences! If society would stop making mental illness a shameful thing less lives would be lost!

So sad. What happens that is so bad that these young people take such a route. You never know what demons we struggle with. He was a talented young man.

Ya, he was Cyborg on Smallville. I rather liked him. Dang, and I bet he won’t get as much attention as the Glee guy got.
