Fast Five most pirated flick of 2011

Studios are doing their best to thwart pirates from stealing their movies, but some are still making it to the Internet for downloads prior to their DVD releases, including Universal Pictures’ Fast Five, which was the most downloaded pirated film of 2011 with 9.2 million downloads. Warner Bros.’ The Hangover Part II was second with 8.8 million downloads, followed by Paramount Pictures’ Thor, which had 8.3 million. You might think the list of top ten would include only huge blockbusters, but there were surprises, including Summit Entertainment’s Source Code (7.9 million) starring Jake Gyllenhaal; the widely-panned alien teen flick I Am Number Four (7.6 million); and the even-more panned teen action flick Sucker Punch (7.2 million). Also making the list were popular films such as Fox Searchlight’s 127 Hours (6.9 million); Paramount’s animated film Rango (6.4 million) featuring the voice of Johnny Depp, Best Picture Academy Award winner The King’s Speech (6.2 million) and Warner Bros.’ Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 (6 million).

That’s sad. All those lost sales don’t just come out of the pockets of wealthy actors, but they hurt the movie studios ability to set budgets for more daring projects.
One big reason why I shall go out and buy the Blu-ray; this movie was very well done.
Smart ass comments aside… This was a cool action movie. Saw it twice in the theater and bought the BluRay. Gotta support the people involved.
I really enjoyed the movie. Saw it in theatres. The way I see it, I would rather pay $5 and download it as a small base fee. That would still give the studios over $45 million for fast 5. They should just make it available in a great perfect copy and charge a simple $5
