First guy kicked off American Idol

By Alexandra Heilbron on April 15, 2011 | 4 Comments

Paul McDonald was the first “boy” of the Top 12 American Idol contestants to be voted off, during Thursday night’s elimination show. He managed to stay in the competition for several weeks while other singers who were considered “better” were voted off. Last week the audience loudly gasped, then booed when it was revealed that Pia Toscano had earned the least number of votes and was going home. The judges were also shocked and angry, but had used their one “save” of the season earlier for Casey Abrams. The website votefortheworst.com, which each year chooses whom they believe is the worst competitor and asks people to vote for them, has for weeks been asking viewers to vote for Paul. They have not yet announced a new candidate, but are considering Haley Reinhart, who despite two outstanding weeks, this week was criticized for her song choice and wound up in the bottom three, and Casey, who since he was saved, has not been in the bottom three. According to buzz on the Internet, Stefano Langone, who has been in the bottom three regularly, is also not a fan favorite, despite his powerful singing voice. Who do you think should be eliminated next week? Who do you want to see win the competition this year? [poll=271]

Better?!?! Like who? Casey is not ‘Better’ I will accept that Pia who got voted off before Paul was better but certainly Haley & Casey are both prime candidates to be voted off ASAP. They’re worse.

I went to school with Durbin, and his stage presence is AMAZING. This kid couldn’t stop twitching all day at school and look at him now! He’s a freakin ROCKSTAR and I hope he wins. He’s got a family to support and dreams to accomplish. I vote Durbin all the way…but I like Casey and Scotty too. But Scotty doesn’t know the song that he tried to sing earlier in the season,(baby lock them doors and turn the lights down low. put some music on that soft and slow…baby we aint got no place to gooo… i hope you understand!!!….) Which was severely disappointing!

Paul was my favourite. I knew he would be one of the next few kicked off but if he put out a record i would buy it in a second.
