Columbia Pictures has released the first image of British actor Andrew Garfield dressed in a Spider-Man costume —  it looks updated and more hi-tech than the one Tobey Maguire wore in the previous Spider-Man films. Garfield, 27, is currently filming in Los Angeles, opposite Emma Stone as love interest Gwen Stacey. Directed by Marc Webb, Spider-Man also stars Rhys Ifans, Martin Sheen and Sally Field, and will be released in 2012.

RENTING IT. As far as I’m concerned the series ended at #3 with the original characters.

They really should have just continued going on to number 4, it’s way to soon for a reboot.

Way too soon for a reboot? That series was terrible and should have been scrapped long ago. Hopefully this new one is more along the lines of other super-hero movies for adults like The Dark Knight etc.

So jaymon, your telling me that judging by this pic, you think THIS film will be more adult friendly then the original three films?….. Do you need your eyes checked? this ones clearly being made for the young adults….hence it being peter parker in his “high school” days.

I think this might have some potential. If they were to pull a batman and realize they really made a mistake with the original few. They need to start all over-again and then this series might have a chance.
