Gene Simmons proposes to Shannon Tweed

Kiss rocker Gene Simmons has proposed to Shannon Tweed, the mother of his 22-year-old son Nicholas and 18-year-old daughter Sophie. They’ve been together for 28 years and currently star in the popular reality show Gene Simmons Family Jewels. Last month, Tweed took offense when Simmons joked about his womanizing, saying she couldn’t take it anymore. The relationship has been strained since then. Simmons was immediately contrite and has since proposed to Tweed, getting down on his knees to ask her to marry him and presenting her with a huge diamond ring. In a promo for their show, he tells Tweed, “You’re the only friend I’ve got. You’re the only one I’ve ever loved.” Tweed’s answer will be revealed this week during the season finale.

He needs to grow up and stop the rocker lifestyle. He has children with this woman! Time to man up and if she has been there thru thick and thin and she is his best and true friend, that’s all you need in the world! Plus she is a hot mama! Sure there is clearly work done, but she loves ya Gene, time to grow old with your best friend and lover that you married!!
COME ON, the season finale will be the day Gene finally proposes, that doesn’t sound plannned to any of you? To top it all off, you’d think she would be insulted that he would propose only when he feels his back is against the wall. So obvious that this is only a plot to get ratings.
Germain has a point, but it’s not only because it’s a season finale. Gene’s always said he was a womanizer, but Shannon’s always said he’s never had sex with anyone other than her during their relationship. Well, Gene got caught with his pants down (very literally, on video) with another woman, and this season was edited down (I don’t watch, but I’ve heard it’s got less episodes than other seasons).
My personal feeling is that any time a couple have a Reality (used loosely) TV series, they’re moving towards splitsville. Guess we’ll see (so far, I’m pretty sure this theory is batting 100%!)
Well it’s about time, what was he waiting for? Every woman wants to get married, nobody wants to be the “live-in girlfriend” for years and years. If he loves her he should marry her.
GOD, what has this bimbo (oh, wait….she is highly intellectual, Not a no-talent soft-porn actress and former nude model) seen in this uber-ugly, uber-egotistical, uber disgusting cretin for 29 long years? Oh, wait….there is the little matter of his being worth perhaps 300 million US…not that he ever had one iota of musical talent, mind you, but rather that Genie-baby, er, Chaim Witz was a smart little Jewish boy from NY who, like many other little Jewish boys, had a gift of marketing anything….and he has done so – he’d sell his own mother to make another million. (Oh wait…he did that too….on his disgusting, vile reality show.) Tell me – would ANYONE with class or dignity show their private lives to the world, and would anyone with class propose on a disgusting, vile reality show? These two are a perfect set – they deserve one another….she stuck with him for all those years knowing well he plays…does this idiot honestly believe that is going to change? Uh…no…..
btw, it is pretty amusing that Shannon’s also-bimbo sister Tracy, who refers to herself as an “actress/model” (really? of what? where? how?) has also lived well off of Genie-baby AKA Chaim all of these years….both sisters received the gift of being cosmetically remade – Shannon was naturally pretty, Tracy, uh…NOT. As for Mr. Witz….he is laughing all the way to the bank, at all of the people who tune into his vile reality show, which is always so clearly scripted – proving for once and for all these people are phonies, cannot act, and are despicable role models for class in the real world. (even their house is tacky…lit up at night like the Vegas Strip.) You can take Chaim out of the Bronx, but you can’t take it, or tackiness out of Genie-baby……and Shannon has been the uber 6′ tall shiksa goddess who stays and stays and stays…duhhhh….
Who in their right mind has sex with Gene Simmons these days? I doubt Shannon would either.
Gene should retire and stick to business.

one of the most disturbing things about watching a show like this is the hatred and rage that is engendered in some quarters by i am guessing people who get jealous of other people’s success.
the entire simmons family is successful and it’s clear that they are in alot of pain right now, they are most likely not faking it
it’s clear that gene getting caught having sex on video right after “lying by ommission” his son’s words – was very painful for the whole family
his daughter does not want to put it all out there to “entertain” people but shannon says – they made a committment to do a show and they can’t just back out when problems happen
i think they are brave to show their problems, work them thru and show a thick skin to haters

in the tv guide, they said this was the finale. it should have been a 2 hour finale.
I hope Shannon & Gene stay together. It takes a lot to put your whole private life on TV every week. I think they have done an excellent job with raising their kids. I would like to say thank you to the family for the show and for letting the viewers experience part of your personal lives. I don’t understand the bitterness coming from some of the reviews. Gene has worked hard all his life to support his family. I am sure if you made the money he makes you would have a beautiful home as well. I also want to say that Shannon has been the heart of that home and family all along, she has done a wonderful job and should be respected for that. I wish them both happiness and love and hopefully a wonderful wedding day!

seriously i cried. its nice to rock out with a string of women in your arm but when you have spent your life with a person that has extended herself more than the average and then to hear tracey and shannon talking and saying “my boyfriend” im kinda like (arent we past this) – i watch it every tue and since im listening to lick it up – i say dont wait until its too late. people that get plastci surgery together stay together!
I like that he pleaded with her to marry him. Their kids are the nicest I have ever seen come out of celebrity couples. Very down to earth and Shannon is a beautiful person. Look how she set up the meeting with his family in Israel. I wish that family all the best
if your not living life in there shoes .i don’t think you have the right to judge.i don’t think it’s all fake he’s worth enough money that if the show was over tomorrow it would not hurt him one bit.i feel bad for the kids .
I wish the entire family luck with working out their problems they are going through at this time. It seems that Shannon and the children (young adults) have been very hurt by Gene’s actions and I hope that the therapy has made Gene take a look at himself and see it’s not all about just him.

I think they are such a great family… not too many “celebrity” couples make it very long let alone your “average everyday couples” like most of us. Yes Shannon has benefited from Genes income but she also had to put up with the fact that she never really had a normal family life with him because of his career so its a give n take situation like every relationship. On the other hand she knew to a point what she was getting into but in the end they both love each other and have made things work when most people just pack it in so they do deserve credit for that… they seem down to earth and have raised two kids that I can only wish my 3 kids grow up to be as level headed and as resposible as… they seem like a regular couple with good values.. well except Gene should have out grown the rocker/groupie part a decade or two ago… i wish them well xo and they can just wish me to win the lottery in return lol

I think Shannon really does love Gene, but not more than the perqs that come with living the Kiss lifestyle. I really like the person Shannon seems to be, but how stupid and self deprecating to put yourself out there for the world to see how little self worth she really has. Oher than their kids, It does not seem that they have much of a life together other than what happens around Gene, not a friend, or a common interest. Even Sophie, who is supposed to be Daddy’s little girl admitted in therapy that Gene has bween a great provider, but not a great dad. Shannon, wake up!

Reality show couples have a habit of breaking up. Carmen Electra and David whatever, Nick and Jessica, the tatooed weirdo with Moekler…the only couple who made it work is Ozzy and Shannon.
