Glee Season Four available on DVD/Blu-ray

If there’s anything that Fox’s musical dramedy Glee is known for, it’s flashy musical numbers, famous guest stars and fierce performances by its ever-growing cast. Here’s a look at Glee: The Complete Fourth Season, now available on DVD, Blu-ray and Digital Download.

In Season four, a new generation of students were introduced at McKinley High: a mean cheerleader named Kitty (Becca Tobin), a bad boy named Jake (Jacob Artist), a jock named Ryder (Blake Jenner), a transgender boy named Wade (Alex Newell), and a shy diva named Marley (Melissa Benoist). While Mr. Schuester (Matthew Morrison) and his co-mentor, college dropout Finn Hudson (Cory Monteith), trained the newbies for show choir competitions, Rachel (Lea Michele ) and Kurt (Chris Colfer) pursued love and Broadway fame in the Big Apple.

It shouldn’t be a surprise that the season four finale left us with two cliffhangers. Always leaving us wanting answers, creator Ryan Murphy and his crew of writers had Rachel open the finale by auditioning for a Broadway revival of Funny Girl, only to disappear for the rest of the episode. Another cliffhanger occurred in the final scene when Blaine (Darren Criss) popped out an engagement ring, ready to ask his ex-boyfriend Kurt the big question. You know how to make us Gleeks anxious, Mr. Murphy!

The fifth season of Glee kicked off Thursday, September 26 with a tribute to the music of The Beatles. This season promises to add more star power with American Idol alum Adam Lambert and teen idol Demi Lovato. Minor spoiler alert: Demi will be playing the love interest to Santana (Naya Rivera), while Adam will be Kurt’s new rival.

If you missed any episodes last year, or just want to refresh your memory, you’ll want a copy of Glee: The Complete Fourth Season. Special features include: Glee Music Jukebox, Glee Premiere Party, Deleted Scenes, Movin’ On Up: Glee in NYC, Girls (and Boys) On Film, Glee on Film and The Road to 500.

Other home releases available today include: The Croods, This is the End and The Frozen Ground. ~Alfonso Espina
