Richard Franco, 28, who was accused of stalking Halle Berry, has been sentenced to just over a year in jail — 386 days to be exact. However, Los Angeles prosecutors say because Franco has already served 193 days behind bars, he won’t be required to serve anymore time. Franco pleaded no contest to one count of stalking after he was accused of climbing a locked security gate to get onto Berry’s property and of breaking into her guest house in Hollywood last July. Berry said in court papers Franco had “terrorized” her over the course of three days last July, one time staring at her through her kitchen window, before he was arrested. Prosecutor Wendy Segall said during the trial that the actress had been “in fear for her safety.” Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Dennis Landin also sentenced Franco to five years of probation and a year of psychological counselling, as well as imposing a 10-year criminal protective order on him to stay away from Berry.
