Anything with magic is generally a good film. This series in particular is exceptionally well done.

  12. quinn • March 3, 2009 @ 7:28 PM

Hey there Jo-Ann I agree with you.Harry Potter is one of those guilty pleasures. We never did discuss the academy awards. I must say I was only right about Slum dog. The fashions were not that bad this year. No major slip ups. What did you think?

im as excited as everyone else. and thats some great news, lexis! congrats to your family! although, curiously wondering if the comment made at : Nancy on March 3, 2009 11:45 am was REALLY nancy?

  20. tributegirl • March 4, 2009 @ 8:12 AM

    Definitely not.

  21. Jo-Anne. • March 4, 2009 @ 9:34 AM

    Hi Quinn!!!!!
    Nice to hear from you!

I thought they went really well, got about half right, was happiest for Sean Penn’s win and, of course, Heath.

I wasn’t too blown away with the fashions, thought a few looked too much like wedding/prom/mermaid dresses…I’d say tops were Aniston, Streep, Portman, Halle Berry and among the more unflattering were Winslet, Klum, Biel, Goldberg, Swinton, Beyonce, Tomei…way more unflattering fashions I felt this year…

Think Jackman did a good job all in all. Have you seen Slumdog or Milk?

  22. Monique • March 4, 2009 @ 9:43 AM

    Nancy !!!

Didnt your Mother ever say if you dont have anything nice to say don’t say anything at all …. that was not nice at all and Harry Potter is Not for geeks and nerds …. I am far from a Geek or a nerd or a book worm so like i said if you have nothing nice to say dont waste your breath

  23. mandee • March 4, 2009 @ 9:52 AM

i think EVERYONE is a geek in their own way.

  24. Nancy • March 4, 2009 @ 10:22 AM

No, that ‘Nancy’ in black writing wasn’t me. But if you read the last 2 words of what they wrote, “booo yeah”…well, someone was commenting last week under the name ‘booya’ or ‘booyah’…could be them…wouldn’t surprise me!

  25. mandee • March 4, 2009 @ 1:04 PM

see, thats how i KNEW it wasnt you lmao. and the fact that the name was black. like, when have you EVER said “boo” anything? lol

  26. Mary • March 4, 2009 @ 2:07 PM

I love the Harry Potter Books and Films I’m an avid fan of this fantasy series and can’t wait for the next film. When the last one comes out were all going to have withdrawal symptoms for sure. After reading the first book I was hooked.I’m not revealing how old I am but I’ve been around for awhile and this series of books are the most exciting I’ve read in years.Geek and Nerd just does not apply here.

  27. sk8tergirl • March 4, 2009 @ 5:28 PM

The name of the other person was Nancy H, not Nancy 😛 But it is hard to notice at first.

  28. Nancy • March 4, 2009 @ 5:56 PM

Thanks sk8tergirl. I think Tribute must have added the ‘H’ in after…??? I don’t recall it being there before.

  29. Nancy • March 4, 2009 @ 5:58 PM

    Could have been though…LOL

  30. mandee • March 4, 2009 @ 5:59 PM

ohh hey, good call. i sure look like an idiot now lol! i only glanced and saw the word nancy so i just assumed that was all there was and didnt look any harder. also, the name was in black, which is why i assumed it wasnt the REAL nancy lol. yes, i do think youre more real than any other nancy, nancy 😛

  31. Pauline • March 4, 2009 @ 7:41 PM

I think the Harry Potter series is great. I’ve read all the books, and seen all the movies so far. And can’t wait for the next to come out. As a librarian, I often read the young adult literature, but I seldom come across subjects that catch the attention like these. Great work!!

  32. Jim • March 5, 2009 @ 8:43 AM

I don’t think the H was there on Nancy’s name earlier either. I was a little confused yesterday and automatically assumed someone was trying to start crap with the other Nancy.
Now I see it plain as day. Maybe I didn’t look any further than the Nancy in black writing but I can only assume I would have noticed the last initial. Just my thoughts….

  33. tributegirl • March 5, 2009 @ 9:34 AM

Same here, I am pretty sure I would have noticed the “H”, I am almost 100% certain that it was not there before, but I knew it wasn’t “our” Nancy just from what was written in the comment. So I also think it was someone trying to start something. Maybe this required e-mail address is a good idea after all, I was wondering before what the relevance of it was! 🙂

  34. Nancy • March 5, 2009 @ 10:48 AM

Hahaha….I always come prepared….wearing my hip waders!! 😛

  35. Darklady0001 • March 7, 2009 @ 3:27 AM

Can’t wait to see this one. Major big fan of Harry Potter – have all the books but will not read them till after the movies have all been released lol. Just me – being old I want to see the movies first. Can’t wait for this one and the last one to come out. My grandkids love them.
