Home tops weekend box office

HomeThe family comedy Home was the big winner at this weekend’s box office. The animated film is DreamWorks Animations’ 31st feature-length animation and features voice work by RihannaJim ParsonsSteve Martin and Jennifer Lopez. Home earned $54 million and is a hit with Tribute readers. They’ve given it 4.2 stars.

With its debut at second was the comedy Get Hard. The movie has gotten quite a bit of backlash for being too racist/homophobic, but earned $34 million in its debut weekend. Tribute readers have mixed reviews and give it a 3.2 star rating.

The Divergent Series: Insurgent slid to third this weekend, earning an extra $20 million dollars. Tribute readers love the thriller, giving it 4.5 stars.

Cinderella dropped to fourth this weekend with an additional $17.5 million dollars. Tribute readers love the remake of the classic fairy tale, giving it 4.5 stars.

Breaking into the top five with its debut was It Follows. The horror movie has gotten great reviews, but only managed to earn $4 million in its box office debut. However, Tribute readers love it, giving it a solid 5 star rating. ~Sandra D. Sukraj
