Hugh Grant a first-time dad at 51

Hugh Grant, 51, has become the father of a baby girl, who was born September 26 at a private hospital in London. The mother is Chinese actress Tinglan Hong, 32, whom Grant, who has never been married, dated for a short period earlier this year. Grant was not present at the birth but spent 30 minutes with his daughter the following day before travelling to Scotland to play golf. His publicist told the Mail Online: “I can confirm that Hugh Grant is the delighted father of a baby girl. He and the mother had a fleeting affair and while this was not planned, Hugh could not be happier or more supportive. He and the mother have discussed everything and are on very friendly terms.”

Wow! He should get a father of the year award for spending a whole 30 minutes with his newborn child then leaves to play golf. Then again, maybe he shouldn’t play dad because by the time his kid leaves home it will time for him to be placed in a home.
Um…I know 30 minutes isn’t a long time but what exactly is he supposed to do with her afterward? Play tiddly winks? Breast feed her? She’s brand new. He was there for his daughter not for the mother. He met her, he left. At least he met her. I know some parents who can’t even muster that. I won’t judge him too harshly. It’s too soon to determine what kind of father he is. I hope he loves her and treats her well.
So does this mean things are over with Elizabeth Hurley?
30 minutes. That a lot more than my sons’ father spent with them until they were 7.Then I think he donated a few hours of his time, made promises, and never saw them again. The baby girl would be better off without Hugh. He is somewhat self-centred.

Deb….don’t worry, his daughter WILL give a damn about inheriting the money he has. The mother also probably got pregnant on purpose so she can be guaranteed a permanent hand in his pockets.
If a couple don’t want to have children- fleeting romance, straight sex, or committed relationship- then they BOTH take precautions against it. Especially in this day & age where Syphillis is making a comeback & we all have awareness regarding STD’s & so on. Play safe means both against pregnancy & STD’s…he’s one half of the pregnancy equation & I, for one, think he is mutually at fault for spawning a baby. The mom couldn’t do it without a guy’s help…so not sorry for anybody but that innocent baby! Poor, sexually addicted Hugh! Boo Hoo!

There’s no fool like an old fool… unprotected sex with a chinese gold digger. Now he will have to pay for the rest of his life. He has to ‘do the right thing’ by the child, to avoid becoming unpopular with his fans. I’ve read on the web numerous accounts of Chinese deliberately targeting blue eyed men, to introduce the genes into their children.
