Kingsman: The Golden Circle holds onto top box office spot

Kingsman: The Golden CircleNew releases American Made and Flatliners were no match for the previous week’s champ, Kingsman: The Golden Circle, which held the title for a second weekend in a row. Check out this weekend’s top five below!

Although early estimates had it placed in third, Kingsman: The Secret Service sequel Kingsman: The Golden Circle held the top spot at the box office. In its second week in theaters, the film earned an additional $16.9 million for a current domestic gross of $66.6 million. Our users are enjoying all the spy action too, giving the film a rating of 3.5 out of 5 stars.

Horror film IT seems to still be scaring up large audiences because the film held the second spot in its fourth weekend in theaters, earning an additional $16.9 million. The film’s current domestic gross is a hearty $290.8 million, with our users loving all the screams and giving the movie a solid 3.4 out of 5 rating.

Tom Cruise‘s new comedy action flick, American Made, made an impression on audiences, debuting in third in its opening weekend. The film earned just over $16.8 million and has a rating of 2.3 out of 5 from our users.

The LEGO NINJAGO Movie was also a hit with moviegoers, dropping only one spot to fourth in its second week of release. The animated comedy took in $11.6 million this weekend, making its current domestic gross $35.2 million. Our users give the film a rating of 3.7 stars out of 5.

Debuting in fifth place was the reboot Flatliners. The film, starring Canadians Ellen Page, Nina Dobrev and Kiefer Sutherland, earned $6.6 million in its opening weekend. The remake of the ’90s thriller of the same name earned a 2.2 star rating out of 5 from our users.

    I have only seen one ad for Flatliners which sucks. I hope it slowly comes back, especially for all those Canadian actors.
