Jackass Forever steals weekend box office from Spider-Man

Back for their fourth cinematic outing after a 10-year hiatus, the Jackass crew teamed up for one final swan song in Jackass Forever. The action/comedy film debuted with $23.15 million.

Despite theaters finally opening in Ontario this week, Moonfall released only in the U.S. this weekend. Starring Halle Berry and Patrick Wilson, the sci-fi thriller took in $9.9 million in its debut weekend, earning it second place.

After topping the box office for six of the past seven weekends, Spider-Man: No Way Home was pushed to third place. It earned an additional domestic total of $9.5 million for an eight-week total of $749 million. The blockbuster should take over over third place on the top grossing domestic movies chart from Avatar ($760.5 million) in the next 10 days.

Dropping from second to fourth place, the horror sequel Scream took in $4.8 million in its fourth weekend at the box office, for a total of $68.9 million.

Rounding out the top five was the animated sequel Sing 2, which earned an additional $4.2 million for a seven-week total of $139.6 million. ~Alexandra Heilbron
