James McAvoy helps audience member during performance

Scotland-born James McAvoy is a class act. The actor, 33, known for his roles in X-Men:First Class and The Conspirator, recently hit the stage in London’s Trafalgar Studios, playing the title role in Shakespeare’s Macbeth. Halfway through the performance, he stopped the show and jumped down from the stage to help an audience member who’d collapsed. He checked on the injured person, called for emergency personnel, and resumed the performance after the person had received medical attention. Several witnesses took it to social media, giving kudos to the actor, including one who wrote: “Saw James McAvoy stop mid culmination scene in #Macbeth to help a collapsed audience member. Crack a joke or 2, then continue with the same intensity. Top guy.” The London Independent calls him “a compassionate soul” and said he gave a “very strong, no-holds-barred performance.” He will be seen in the upcoming thriller, Trance, alongside Rosario Dawson and Vincent Cassel. ~Carlos Laron
