Jane Fonda shuts down TV host for plastic surgery question

Jane FondaWatch out, reporters, Jane Fonda isn’t interested in talking about plastic surgery.

On Wednesday’s episode of NBC’s TODAY show, Megyn Kelly sat down with Jane and her co-star Robert Redford to talk about their Netflix original film Our Souls At Night. Things got awkward when the host asked an ill-advised question about the Oscar-winner’s plastic surgery over the years. Caution: Fonda’s death stare will make you wince.

Kelly started: “You’ve been an example to everyone in how to age beautifully and with strength and unapologetically. You admit you’ve had work done, which I think is to your credit. But you look amazing.”

She continued: “Have you… why did you say… I read you felt you’re not proud to admit you had work done, why not?”

Jane replied: “We really want to talk about that now?”

Kelly rallied with: “Well, one of the things people think about when they look at you, is how amazing you look,” to which Jane replied curtly, “Thanks. Good attitude. Good posture. Take care of myself.”

After exchanging glances with her co-star Robert Redford, she added: “Let me tell you why I love this movie that we did, Our Souls at Night, rather than plastic surgery.”

Robert joked, “Back to that, huh?”

The stars then jumped right into discussing their movie, with no help from Kelly. ~Marriska Fernandes

When this treasonous bitch dies — the war vets will be lined-up to piss on her grave!!

I thought she handled it in a very classy way. Both she and Redford answer the questions they want to answer, they didn’t let this flake sidetrack what they wanted to say. True pros.

    Hi:

Jane Fonda is stunning–and the guy sitting on her right is no slouch.

But, it is the top that Jane is wearing that gets my attention. I have bought the same pattern type of top (Ralph Lauren for mine)in blue and black, not grey and white. I will be giving it to someone very special in Toronto; someone who has kept in shape and is a most remarkable person.I know she will love it.

    LOL! Nice one, Jane Fonda!

She is a real Dragon Lady….my mother & I never liked her but she is a good actress-like Shirley McLaine.

Why is it that when a woman simply stands up for herself, draws a line, or in effect says ‘no’ that people call her a bitch or a dragon lady? So in that same spirit let me just say that the ‘bitch’ and ‘dragon lady’ sayers are….assholes! Seems fair.

I thought she handled it perfectly! She looks amazing

My reply is to Elsie. Elsie, google Hanoi Jane and you will soon find out why Jane Fonda is so hated by so many. Some people obviously haven’t heard about what she did to all the soldiers during the Vietnam war. The words “bitch” and “dragon lady” are very kind names to call this traitor. Do some googling.

@Terry but the Vietnam War isn jot fully acknowledge as an unjust war even Vietnam vets (many in my fam) all say that we fought on the wrong side of the war, we got our young men killed and ruined in a war that made no sense and still treated then worse then the viet cong when they came home (especially the vets of colour let my uncle tell you about his black brother in arms who survived vietnam just to be lynched here). Jane founder is maybe a bit too left leaning for my liking and maybe protested the war the wrong way (Ali did it better but they still wanted to lynch him after jailing him, he is only seen as a heron now in hindsight) but hey those who sent young men to their deaths with no just cause are bigger traitors

Gareth. If you think Hanoi Jane this to protest the Vietnam war she wouldn’t have spent her time and money going there to entertain the troops. Betraying them was totally inexcusable no matter what the reason. She could have voiced her opinions on stage there — instead, she went behind their backs and betrayed them. She’s a slimeball, no two ways about it — a despicable excuse for a human being.

She did a great job, the interviewer was rude to even mention plastic surgery. Jane has kept in shape her whole life and looks amazing. She’s a classy lady.
