Jay-Z puts music on hold for Blue Ivy

Shawn ‘Jay-Z’ Carter is making his daughter his number one priority. The rapper has revealed he plans to put music on hold for a bit to focus on fatherhood for Blue Ivy, while wife and mother Beyoncé Knowles plans to release two new albums for 2012. “I thought I would be more inspired to have all these new feelings to talk about, but I really just want to hang out with my daughter,” said Jay-Z. “I want to enjoy this time for what it is. I’m sure that bug to get back in the studio will come back at some point.” The news doesn’t come as a complete shock, since he announced to CNN, “Fatherhood is fantastic, it’s amazing. It’s a surreal thing, the joy that someone has at four months old. I know that it gets better.” However, the rap star isn’t giving up completely on his music. The new dad revealed he will be headlining the two-day Made In America music festival this coming Labor Day weekend in Philadelphia. ~Graeme Mollison
