The Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence is scheduled to reunite with director Gary Ross to play a starring role in the new adaptation of John Steinbeck’s novel East of Eden. Set in Salinas Valley in northern California, the book follows two families, the Trasks and the Hamiltons, and their relationship with each other. Jennifer will be playing Cathy Ames, wife of the lead protagonist Adam Trask. Gary is believed to be splitting the novel into two films. East of Eden was originally made into a feature film in 1955, directed by Elia Kazan. The film was loosely based on the second half of the novel and starred Raymond Massey, Julie Harris and Hollywood bad boy James Dean. ~Brie Davis
