The Tudors star Jonathan Rhys Meyers, 33, is believed to have attempted suicide at his London home Tuesday night. He was found slumped on the floor by paramedics answering an emergency call, according to British paper The Sun. Meyers, who has struggled with addiction for years, refused help for over 30 minutes, so police were called and Meyers was forcibly taken to a nearby hospital. He’s believed to have taken an overdose of pills. A source told the publication: “This is very sad. It was the opinion of those present that he tried to take his life.” Scotland Yard confirmed: “Officers were called by London Ambulance Service following reports of a man refusing treatment. The man was taken to hospital.” Meyers, who has starred in films such as August Rush and Mission: Impossible III, was discharged from hospital on Wednesday morning.

You can still have it all, but still be extremly depressed. Just because your famous dosn’t mean you do not have those thoughts or even attempt on them. I’m not condoning what he did, but he is human and those thoughts do exsist within some.

Rich and successful people get sad too, not just us poor folks. Addiction is a serious problem, I struggled with addiction for about 8 years and even tried to take my own life at one point. All the money in the world cant buy true happiness.

So sad!! I wouldn’t trade millions for cameras chasing me, lack of privacy and expectations to be perfect, Just not worth the hassle.Hopefully he will get some help and seek strong family support.

Good looking guy, Hugo Boss model, in movies and tv, has cashola… He should take his depression/frustration out on have lots and lots of sex with hot ass women. That’s what I’d do to drown my sorrows away. Take my advise Jonathan!

Maybe that’s what he has been doing, and he’s realized what a shallow life he’s living, C-Dub. Happiness comes from caring about someone and having them care about you. On another note, I don’t find him attractive at all, he’s one of the creepiest looking, ugliest men I’ve ever seen.

I was really sad to hear this! Such a Nice looking man and young enough, that he has so much going for him and yet can’t see that for himself! I hope someone helps him to see that there is still, a lot of good/people and Positivity in this World too. Also a lot of wonder!!

What pills? Do they say somewhere, for all we know its a placebo, because he has still a lot of energy to resist after thirty minutes. He’s a method actor isn’t he, you will probaly see this in a movie later on. Experiences for film. All your sympathy for nothing. Ha.

Sometimes these ‘Stars’ find out they have and are living a life they are not to fond of. There seems to only be two options for them. One is to take what money they have earned now and just go live in private on a nice property somewhere and enjoy yourself. The other is to mix those two lives intermix hollywood with a private and secluded lifestyle. It is clear that he needs to make a similar decision himself. Hoping he has a good support system somewhere otherwise we might see him again in the headlines.

What does rich have to do with it? know any other rich famous people that committed suicide or died of excess? I know plenty. Depression and addiction knows no social standard.
