Actress Julianne Moore has received the 2,507th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for her contributions to film. During her lengthy career she has starred in over 60 films and boasts four Oscar nominations, including best supporting actress nods for Boogie Nights (1997) and The Hours (2002), as well as two best actress nominations for The End of the Affair (1999) and Far From Heaven (2002). She recently starred in Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s Don Jon and the actor-writer-director was at the ceremony to commemorate Moore. “She’s not faking it when she’s performing,” Gordon-Levitt said. “She’s feeling what the character is feeling. It’s a very difficult thing to do.” Also in attendance was Jay Roach, who directed Moore in her Emmy-winning portrayal of Sarah Palin in the HBO’s TV film Game Change, and actress Chloe Grace Morëtz, with whom she stars in the upcoming horror-remake Carrie.
“I have only known her for a year but in this short time she has taught me so many things,” Morëtz said of her onscreen mother. “How to be a brilliant mom one day, how to have a long lasting career and be a beautiful person inside and out.” Julianne Moore will next reunite with her The Big Lebowski co-star Jeff Bridges in the upcoming fantasy film Seventh Son and is signed on to play President Alma Coin in the last installments of the Hunger Games trilogy, Mockingjay Parts 1 & 2, set for release in 2015. ~Raj-Kabir Birk
