New York City police officials say Academy Award-nominated actress Julianne Moore has been robbed of jewelry worth more than $127 K. She won’t miss it. She can buy new stuff.
That’s not the point….they may have been gifts that marked special occassions in her life…like the birth of a child or a milestone birthday.
Don’t care. Ooooo they were made by Cartier blah blah blah…if she can afford them and leaves them out, then tough luck….buy more.
@Annie and Dan:
if god forbid either of you get robbed, i hope you don’t expect anyone to feel sorry for you. the fact that she has the money to replace the items, and infact they are probably insured, is moot. She trusted these people to come into her home and do the required work without having to fear they would steal from her. These companies have obviously hired at least 1 thief and they better find them before their reputations are ruined.
Theft is not fun for the person it happens to. Doesn’t matter what was stolen or who it was that was robbed. It still horrible
In the grand scheme of things, it’s trivial. Material is excactly that, meterial. Life and love is what matters, not jewelry. 12.5 millions for the house, I think she’ll live.
I would be upset if it was an heirloom from family that wasn’t replaceable, but insurance will cover this stuff.
