Kanye vs Today Show

Kanye West is putting that silver tongue of his to good use once again.
The rapper—long famous for putting his foot in his mouth with a string of high profile public temper tantrums—appeared on yesterday’s Today Show to be interviewed by Matt Lauer, only to lose his cool yet again.
Objecting to the playing of his infamous Taylor Swift rant on the 2009 MTV VMA Awards show, Kanye said, “Yo, how am I supposed to talk if you’re gonna run this thing in the middle of me talking?”
Despite being reassured that the clip of his rant wouldn’t be heard during the broadcast of his interview, West persisted and said, “I am hearing it while I am trying to talk.”
Not one to leave it at that, West took to Twitter this morning, and announced he was canceling his scheduled November 26 Today Show performance, referring to the Today Show ordeal as “the set up”.
Does Kanye have a point (Tom Cruise likewise lost his cool with Lauer in 2005), or is this just another example of the star’s ego run amok?

Linda…I couldn’t agree more. I’ve never liked this guy! I’m all for having self confidence…it’s a fine line between confidence and being a jerk.
The man comes across, as self-centered, egotistical and angry. He really needs to control his urges to open his big trap and spout something incredibly insensitve and quite frankly stupid. I have a poster in my room: “How about a nice big cup of shut the F*** up”. Think before you say something stupid. Kany can get it off the internet.

Taking it to the extreme. Maybe there was someone trying to edit it out of clips in the background. Whatever if he doesn’t want to hear it he should think before he speaks as it will obviously come back to bite him in the future.

I completely agree with most of the comments above about how much of a prick Kanye is. He has been rude, unapologetic for his antics and in many cases just plain weird. This is however one instance where I do need to side with Kanye (slightly). I heard the audio of this appearance and I to would have been distracted and likely annoyed myself. In many cases it speaks to the today show’s professionalism. Now I am not putting all the blame on the today show here either. Kanye is also to blame for yet another public outburst. The biggest issue he has is taking issues like this one to far. If he had just said his first comment and left it at that, taken a deep breath and left the issue at that he looks like a star and makes the today show host look like a douche. Instead he kept harping on the issue and now he has almost given justification for the today show’s actions.
