Kanye West doesn’t care about anybody

By Alexandra Heilbron on November 3, 2010 | 13 Comments

Remember Kanye West blurting out “George Bush doesn’t care about black people,” in 2005? In a recent interview with NBC’s Matt Lauer, Bush commented on Kanye’s criticism saying, “It was one of the most disgusting points of my presidency.” Not that we’re sympathizing with Bush, but we’re definitely rolling our eyes with the many, many celebrities Kanye has decided to speak out against over the years and the issues he decided to address, whether or not his opinion was requested or justified. He’s well-known for his outbursts like the one in 2006 at the MTV Europe Music Awards when he went onstage after failing to win Best Video and argued that he should have won instead. Or at the VMAs when he interrupted Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech on stage to say Beyoncé should have won the award for Best Music Video.  What does Kanye have to say about his Bush comment? In a radio interview yesterday with Elvis Duran at Z100, Kanye said, “I was emotionally convicted at that moment of Katrina and I expressed what I felt.” This might be true but most of us believe you’ve expressed your feelings a little too often, Kanye, and in all the wrong ways. For those of you who don’t remember Kanye’s comment about Bush, we’re including the video below in which he delivers his infamous line — mainly because if you want a laugh, keep your eyes on Mike Myers — he obviously had no idea what was coming. It is possibly the funniest genuine reaction ever to be caught on camera. ~Chantelle Rodrigo

    Deep down inside all of us, we know Kanye West spoke some truth in that. Had that been a rich city with majority of white people, the story would have been different. If you otherwise, you’re sadly mistaken. Yes, it is unfortunate, but its true. I have no problem with what Kanye says, its when he says it. Or is it? Was there a better more effective way for him to get that point across? (heh.for both the Bush and the Taylor Swift incident..)

    @NHY
    High five on that comment

    @eyenstine
    U speek realy good.

    On a different note I don’t think the title or this article has much merit. Kanye has made two very public comments in his past which certainly lend themselves to prove that title to be correct. This however could be said about many celebrities for various comments they have made during their careers. Now one thing which would add some validity to this ‘article’ would be if Kanye were to make a statement in response which doesn’t include at least some apologetic tone.

    For now Kanye’s best move is to just gain some self perspective and grin and bear comments like this. Preferably not in a well lit area though, cracking a smile with his new lower ‘teeth’ could be blinding in the right light.

    I had a hard time understanding what he was saying most of the time. Either way, sounded douchy.

    Eyenstine, we will likely never know if a ‘rich mostly white’ city will have a natural disaster of epic proportions and George W Bush will never be president again, so we will never know how that government would react. Shouldn’t speculate. Bush was just a retard, it likely would have been the same outcome and slow reaction because his hamster doesn’t exactly move fast. See Ferenheight 9/11 when told about terrorist attacks on NYC the largest economic powerhouse city in the whole USA and he hat there dumbfounded not knowing what to do at all. That could have been the start of complete war against USA as a whole and he didn’t have a freaking clue what to do or say and the USA as a whole has white people/black people/asians…etc. They would all have been screwed.

    As for Kanye, well give a celebrite a mike and ability to reach a wide audience then it’s like adding gasoline to a burning fire..they are likely going to try and grab more spotlight. They are bred for that. With their ever-changing style of hair and clothes and bling bling. But we all have freedoms and freedom of opinion and expression are for everyone. Don’t like it? Turn the channel or plug your ears or walk away. One thing is certain he gets people talking.

    Mike looked a little unsure of Kanye the entire clip, but especially at the end. Kanye cares ONLY for black people, seems to have a major dislike for white people. Good thing we have people like Mike who obviously care for people of any race. Kanye is a douche, and if we never saw him again it would be too soon.
