Kevin Smith confirms upcoming superhero movies list is real

If you’ve followed journalist Nikki Finke or listened to filmmaker’s Kevin Smith podcast, you may have seen the startling list of supposedly upcoming Warner Bros. movies. Nikki did not give the names of her sources, who revealed the superhero movie titles and release dates on her website, but Kevin confirmed the list’s authenticity while talking on his Hollywood Babble-on podcast. “I’m not allowed to say, but they showed me. I talked a while back about this universe that they are putting together. I looked at [this] list, and yeah, that’s what I heard. This is what I was told.” Some people are speculating the annual Comic-Con in San Diego will be the place WB will reveal more details and confirm release dates of their future superhero films.

Right now here is the leaked list of movies and their release dates:

* May 2016 – Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

* July 2016 – Shazam!

* Christmas 2016 – Sandman

* May 2017 – Justice League

* July 2017 – Wonder Woman

* Christmas 2017 – The Flash and Green Lantern Team-Up

* May 2018 – Man of Steel 2

Warner Brothers has yet to confirm the news and even Nikki says all the plans for the movies are still in flux. It doesn’t seem time for fans to celebrate yet, unless it’s for the confirmed Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in 2016 and of course to learn what’s up next in the industry from Comic-Con in July. ~Andrea Hodgins

    Aren’t there an overabundance of superhero movies already? We don’t need any more.

    Haha Annette, if you don’t like them, stop reading about them and watching them. No one is forcing you to. 🙂 Be more optimistic eh! You’ll enjoy life better.

    Me personally, I can’t wait for all these movies. Bring it Warner!

    Have you looked at box office results lately Annette?

    I’m sorry you personally don’t enjoy them, but the reality of the world you live in is that the public at large can’t get enough of them right now.

    I’m stoked for the Wonder Woman release! I’m so sick of the female action hero’s being secondary characters to the male ones a la Avengers etc. Little girls need someone to look up to as well and it’s time we stop teaching them that they need a man to rescue them #justsaying

    Yes, Samantha, Wonder Woman is many things and being the sidekick is not one of them. She is a partner and one of the holy trinity with batman and superman. I hope they pick someone who isn’t a stick and is strong, beautiful, smart, true to herself, and gets the job done. Independent, yet thoughtful. Just the way Wonder Woman was written to be. I hope the studio pays attention to her history and stop messing it up and making her a joke. We need a good woman writer for her character, enough men.

    Samantha, are you some sort of foul-smelling dyke or fembo-nazi? The majority of comic book readers are male, as is the audience for movies like The Avengers. Female super heros – remember the Cat Women and Electra movies? – are pathetic and do poorly at the box office. Everyone knows Wonder Woman is one of the silliest superheroes. If she didn’t have a great rack she wouldn’t even be allowed near the boys.

    Bring it on! Each new movie means that I get to relive another childhood memory! Why did I grow up again?

    They are reliable yet versatile, and can withstand lots of use
    and weathering. This time around, pay close attention to how you feel.
