Kim Kardashian slammed for flaunting privilege during COVID

Kim Kardashian West TwitterAfter posting about taking her “inner circle” to a “private island” by private jet, Kim Kardashian has sparked outrage on Twitter for her insensitivity in flaunting her luxurious birthday party while so many are suffering around the world.

She wrote: “After 2 weeks of multiple health screens and asking everyone to quarantine, I surprised my closest inner circle with a trip to a private island where we could pretend things were normal just for a brief moment in time.”

Her post was criticized by an angry reader who pointed out: “Wait, who’s normal is this? You rented out a COVID-free island during a pandemic. Super normal.”

Her comments and photos of her “inner circle” partying were met with more rage from people saying Kardashian has no regard for the current medical crisis and the financial devastation that has hit many during the pandemic.

One person wrote: “Very selfish when people are dying and loosing [sic] their jobs. Also doubt it very much that all 20+ people that attended isolated prior.”

A frustrated follower responded with: “This is insanely selfish and you are completely out of touch. You could’ve waited, but you didn’t. You could’ve done it quietly, but you didn’t. Flaunting the excess of privilege and wealth at this time is not cool, not right.”

However, Kardashian continued to post about how fabulous her life is, apparently tone deaf to her followers, writing, “We danced, rode bikes, swam near whales, kayaked, watched a movie on the beach and so much more. I realize that for most people, this is something that is so far out of reach right now, so in moments like these, I am humbly reminded of how privileged my life is. #thisis40”

A user said: “Brilliant observation! This kind of vacation is out of reach for most people COVID-19 or no COVID-19.”

Another user commented: “Lmao reading this as half of my office got laid off today.”

In response to her post that read: “Before COVID, I don’t think any of us truly appreciated what a simple luxury it was to be able to travel and be together with family and friends in a safe environment,” users commented with:

“For my birthday I was sent a notice of unemployment & I haven’t seen my mom since March! Hopefully you’re happy on your island of fun vacation” and “The utter cluelessness and lack of awareness of the struggle that 99.9% of the people on earth are currently going through right now is disgusting. Your version of “let them eat cake” is beyond cruel. In the end, it never ends well for the Marie Antoinettes of the world.”

Her fellow celebrities didn’t take kindly to her tone-deaf post either, with Ronan Farrow reposting it on Instagram accompanied by a Boschian hellscape, while musician Peter Frampton wrote on Twitter: “Are you that insensitive you don’t realize this is not what the majority of people during the worst covid spike yet want to hear? People are going to food banks not private islands.”

Over 232,000 Americans have lost their lives during the COVID-19 pandemic. California, where Kardashian lives, is under a non-essential travel ban. ~Alexandra Heilbron

Wow i guess kim hasn’t woken up out of her dream life state, cause she really isn’t in tune with life when she’s awake. Shame Shame absolutely such a joke.

Are people really just realizing now how selfish this family is? Please. They have gotten rich off all the people they now show insensitivity to. That’s all that matters to them. Right Kim?
Watch out though. I hear karma can be a real b……

I am sure Kim never intended to flaunt her wealth but since she is used to sharing her life experiences quite frequently, it was a just another party in her life. Hopefully, in the future, she will be more sensitive to other people’s tragic circumstances and what is going on in the world to just how far Covid 19 has traumatized so many! Maybe she will make up for her insensitivity by donating money to different charities around her state which offer assistance to those suffering through Covid 19 either financially, emotionally and psychologically or a combination of all of them!

This is her reality? If you don’t like it don’t follow her. She shouldn’t have to suffer because others are. She is taking care of the people she loves. She is able to do it better than others are and she shouldn’t have to apologize for it. I wish I could do the same but I’m not Kim Kardashian.

I never liked the Kuntdashians. Very arrogant, selfish, ignorant, a waste of oxygen. They don’t have a grip on reality. Alot of us are struggling to survive this nightmare and they have to flaunt their fun. WHAT A WASTE!!!

I am more shocked by everyone being so shocked by this. Has it really taken this long for the general public to see this parasite for what she is!? The whole family is so privileged and so out of touch with reality they have no idea how the rest of us are living. My wish is that everyone, EVERYONE

At the end of the day, during the plan-demic, money talks and bullshit walks, then again I don’t blame them they got rich, so the ppl of the world can a) step up their a game, b) continue to fight for their rights to end this bs where the rich are protected & the ‘others’ are not. That is the struggle some signed up for. So bottom line is: whatever we focus on expands so despite the party of the rich & famous who flaunt it (barf) We must focus on Love, happiness and an abundant life! Too much programming out their to create fear, we must not buy into it, because we each play a part in creating our own realities so make it good. Put focus there and not on Kim, thats wasted energy! And we don’t want the neg vibe we send out to come nail. Stay neutral & positive. Life is great!!

The easiest way NOT to get angry at Kim Kardashian is not to follow her, not to pay attention to her, ignore her at all costs, and rub your nose at her self-centreness.

  11. Rick Spencer • October 29, 2020 @ 3:36 PM

The only way she could be affected by Covid-19, is if she lost her wealth. I don’t think she could survive without her lifestyle. To be normal, would be like living in hell. It does not bother me that she is rich, however, the way she flaunts it, I don’t think it’s the right thing to do. I mean, everyone has a right to live life to the fullest and be happy. It certainly looks like she is doing just that. Also, people, as far as anybody knows, she could be giving thousands or millions, to charities all over America. .

I never followed them, never cared what they did or do and I don’t know why any of you do.
    Have a good day.

This woman is such a skank….I find it hard to believe ANYONE could watch a show with her in it. She is of NO value to anyone or anything.

  14. Nt • October 29, 2020 @ 7:13 PM

oh come on people that’s harsh Live and Let Live but yes I agree with what someone said at this time it should be done quietly but this is the lifestyle of the nouveau riche! people with class and old money do not flaunt it my ex-husband the father of my child at times look like a homeless person driving a blazer but comes from society and the social register anyone in society will know what the social register is so ignore it like they said don’t follow who cares they are what they are hopefully they stay safe and healthy!?????

You know. I am not a Kardashian fan by a long shot. But why get angry at for trying to reduce some of the stress and negativity in her life. Sure, I wish I had money and the opportunity to go away somewhere safe. Sure, I wish I had friends to take with me. You can’t blame her for Covid , any insensitivity, or your jealousy. We all have to deal with our lives the best we can. Leave her alone.

I think it would be nice if those who are in a position to help their fellow human beings during this horrible time

  17. Carol mancini • October 30, 2020 @ 10:50 AM

    Would Do just that.

  18. Arlene Schneider • October 30, 2020 @ 11:52 AM

The Kardation family are so fake in every way. Fake bodies, fake lives and fake shows. Why would anyone watch their show? They are all so sleezy. It’s disgusting how they use their kids as props for their show.

  19. Sue • October 30, 2020 @ 3:36 PM

Everyone is just plain jealous. They made their money so let them enjoy it. You don’t like it….don’t look 🙂

  20. Corliss • October 31, 2020 @ 1:05 PM

    Happy Birthday Kim!! Stay safe.?

  21. Zelda • November 2, 2020 @ 3:06 PM

All that wealth is wasted on people like her. Why are people so concerned with how she spends her money? Unfortunately she has broken no laws. People should completely boycott watching and/or buying ANYTHING of the Kardashian label.
