Madonna disses gift from fan

By Alexandra Heilbron on September 6, 2011 | 12 Comments

During a press conference for her new movie W.E. at The Venice Film Festival, a fan politely approached Madonna and handed her a hydrangea, saying, “Thank you so much. I love you. Good luck.” Madonna accepted the flower with a smile, said “Thank you,” then promptly hid it under the desk. She then made a face at the person to her left, then turned to the person on her right and, probably not realizing her voice was audible to the audience, said in an affected British accent, “I absolutely loathe hydrangeas,” adding, “He obviously doesn’t know that.” Watch the incident on video below:

    You would think after so many years in the business, she would have a little more class.

    She’s just mad that her film was the laughing-stock of the festival and that it further solidified why just because you are a pop icon, it doesn’t mean you can be a filmmaker. Go write a fuking song or something, or has it been so long that she can’t even do that anymore? What a hack. A legend yes, one that hasn’t deserved the spotlight for like 20 years.

    She was nice to the persons face like we all do, and what we don’t know won’t hurt us. Big deal if she even thru it right away into the garbage. The person walked away all happy cause Madonna smiled and said thanks. But of course the ‘news’ now reports what else might have happened and that person likely read what happened and feels like poo.

    She’s a slut and a has been, she’s not relevant anymore and obviously classless.

    Why is she giving herself a British accent?? Idiot.

    Lose the fake accent…along with the additude. Way to show gratitude to the people who helped you get to where you are…RUDY!!!

    Fake British accent.
    Fake personality.

    Why are we giving this idiot the time of day again?

    @C-Dub

    There is a classy thing to do and a classless thing to do. If you wish to talk to you entourage about something in private and have the flower disposed of after you leave then so be it. Why on earth would you verbally insult someones generosity in public. It is just ignorant.

    It’s such a shame that this woman that holds such power …so many fans idolizing her can be so small. Her arrogance is amusing. It’s not the “gift” it’s the intention behind the gift. The man was showing her how much he appreciated her. For one who claims to be “enlightened” with her Kabbala and spiritual talk. She really missed the boat on this one.

    I have seen worse…at least she was gracious when she took them…the guy who gave them will be sad when he sees the you tube video…

    I think she’s disappointing. For someone who wouldn’t be anywhere without her fans, she really doesn’t have a clue how to be gracious. Not cool, not polite, not worth the price of the flower the fan gave her. Disgusting.
