Madonna loses custody of her teenage son Rocco

Madonna has lost custody of her son Rocco, 16, to her ex-husband, Guy Ritchie. It all started in December 2015, when Rocco refused to come home to New York to spend the winter holidays with Madonna, opting instead to remain in England with his dad.
That began a court battle that would last nine months, with Madonna suing her filmmaker ex-husband for custody of the teen.
“The case is settled and everyone agrees that the Rocco’s needs changed and he’s going to be living with dad,” said attorney Peter Bronstein. “Everyone’s agreed to that and there’s no further need for any kind of a court case.”
The teenager was reportedly tired of touring with his mother and decided to visit his father and stepmother Jacqui for the holidays. Ignoring his mother’s demands and a judge’s order to return to New York, Rocco decided to settle down in London and start school there instead.
Realizing she was fighting a losing battle, Madonna reached an agreement with Guy just hours before they were due in court in New York on Wednesday, with the pop star reluctantly agreeing that Rocco could continue to live with his father. ~Natalia Makarski

Sad story. No kid wants to tear their parents relationship (whatever was amicably left of it), and no parent wants to play bouncy ball with their kid going to and from parents houses, let alone long flights between different countries! I’m shocked Madonna saw she was fighting a losing battle, but glad it ended with the kid’s best interest.

When you start commenting about the size of your sons penis you lose respect, not only from your son but also from the general public. I am sure he loves his mom, but she is sort of an oddball.
Rocco? Was he named after Joe Flaherty’s character in SCTV’s The Days of the Week?
As an adult of divorced parents, going through the crap of two people fighting for their own wants rather than those of the children – when I came to getting divorced my ex and I agreed to keep the kids out of it – we reached an amicable divorce without the need of lawyers and have two very happy and calm now adult children who were not involved in any drama. It’s tragic what parents put their kids through for their own interests.
It;s too bad it took 9 months to settle this affair. Too much stress for all. Wish all of them could’ve settled this sooner, but I know that it takes a while to admit how things should be done for the sake of the children.
If this “child” is 15 years he should get to decide where he lives. That is crazy to go to court of something like that — he isn’t 2!!!

well at 16 you can drive a motorcycle in uk, leave school and work,
madonna is a selfish woman to even think about dragging the lad thru court
for custody,had she won he would have resented her.
i too went thru divorce and in best interest of my daughter agreed for her mother full custody at her young age of 6,it just made more sense at the time… with no restrictions on my involvement in her upbringing, with open door policy for seeing her,not the silly weekend every other bla bla bla.at the age of 13 she told her mother her wish was to live with me,her dad, her mother said of course you can.so without any involvement of legal action. thats what we did. thru her teenage years she spent as much time as she needed with both of us,fortunately we never lived more than 2 miles from eachother after the divorce.as a lot of people think a stable invironment for a child is the same home and bed to sleep in every night,for the childs emotional developement stable to us was being free to see both parents whenever she needed to, and now 25yrs later our daughter is a well educated professional, 30yrs old happily married with 2 kids of her own,
