Superhero films are on fire this summer. Man of Steel marks the second biggest opening this year, with $113 million in its first weekend, right behind Iron Man 3. With an additional $12 million from Thursday screenings, the domestic total was brought to $125 million. The Superman remake has set the record as June’s biggest opening ever, stealing the spot held by Toy Story 3, which earned $110.3 million in 2010. Tribute.ca users rated it 4 out of 5 stars. Starring Henry Cavill as Superman and Amy Adams as Lois Lane, the current reboot beat the last Superman film by double. Superman Returns made $52.5 million when it launched in 2006. In second place, This Is The End debuted with $20.5 million and 4 stars from Tribute users. Now You See Me held on to third place with an additional $10.3 million and 4 stars, however, Fast & Furious 6 (with 4 stars) dropped two spots to fourth place with $9.4 million. The Purge also took a drastic drop from first place to fifth, with $8.2 million and 3 stars. Rounding out the top ten: The Internship, Epic, Star Trek Into Darkness, After Earth and Iron Man 3. ~Rebecca Raveendran

It was awesome. The only person who didn’t seem to quite fit was Amy Adams. Keep Kate Bosworth. Otherwise The action was way better than the 2006 version. Superman actually got to fight! And what a fight it was!! I was curious how they could show someone who is darn near invincible, fight others who are the same? Question was answered!
