Mark Wahlberg would have taken on 9/11 terrorists

By Tribute on January 18, 2012 | 21 Comments

If Mark Wahlberg had been on one of those planes headed for the World Trade Center, things would apparently have gone down differently. Unlike the doomed passengers on those flights, Wahlberg would have fought the hijackers and taken over. “If I was on that plane with my kids, it wouldn’t have went down like it did,” Wahlberg said in an interview with Men’s Journal. “There would have been a lot of blood in that first-class cabin and then me saying, ‘OK, we’re going to land somewhere safely, don’t worry.’”

The Oscar-nominated actor and producer, once known for his reckless behavior and whirlwind partying, has transformed himself into not only one of Hollywood’s elite, but also a model husband and father — the only wild partying he does now is at “a big, wild Halloween party or Easter egg party.”  “I don’t go out at night anymore. I don’t hang around with the guys. I don’t really play golf. I stopped smoking cigarettes. I stopped smoking pot a lot of years ago, too. I’m focused on my family, my faith, and my work.” Wahlberg can most recently be seen starring alongside Ben Foster and Kate Beckinsale in the thriller Contraband. He’s also been busy serving as executive producer on the hit television shows Entourage, Boardwalk Empire, and How to Make it in America.

I think Mark has delusions of grandeur. I think he would have been pooping his pants like everybody else on those planes…god rest their souls.

  2. Nobody Important • January 18, 2012 @ 6:59 PM

    Hindsight is 20/20 Mark.

  3. Joan • January 18, 2012 @ 10:30 PM

Good for him, more people should be like him.

  4. Suneagle • January 18, 2012 @ 10:45 PM

Plzzzz that’s BS and you know it! Number one ANYONE would of fought for thier lives that day against people with small egxacto knifes which makes the story that people were really on those plains in the first place very un believable!! Number two if there was which I doubt there was, people on the “windowless” plain hello, but if there was and they diddnt do anything that exact ATTIDUDE (Pooping in your pants) would of got you killed! Regardless! So I’m on the same boat I would of loved to see the faces of the “Staged” terrorists when they saw my fist/elbow/knee/and foot hit them straight in the face!! I’m with you Mark! We need more HERO’s in this world! As a matter of fact I would of landed the Plain right in front of BUSHES door step and would of told him “Guess your plan diddnt work as you thought it would!?” friggen Niaeve! Check out Infowars.com for the truth! I just want to know one thing when are they going to do an actual investigation on what really happened? When ate they going to put the REAL murderers on DEATH ROW?! Why all the secrecy and cover up??!!

    Nothing wrong with hindsight.
He isn’t alone, as plenty of folks would now not hesitate to pounce and overwhelm terrorists in ANY number found on a plane. And that is a fair warning to any terrorist groups have any ideas to do so for future. Lest anyone forget, the infamous ‘fail’ shoe-bomber was caught. Next time, none will be able to make a significant a move to take over any plane.
And this should be true of any ‘captive’ passengers of any vehicle (land, air,or sea).
At the time of the original 9/11, passengers would have had plenty of hand weapons to use (food cutlery (yes, knives and forks), glass, trays, magazines, pens)… and hundreds of passengers…
As for any ‘cover ups’; that is irrelevant, because a terrorist hijacking is just that, and has happened before 9/11, so stick to the topic.

I can’t believe how naive you fine folks are. These passengers were taken by surprise and had witnessed the murder of a flight attendant (Flight 93). Fear can paralyze and many may have thought if they cooperated they would survive the incident. Ultimately the passengers on Flight 93 did form a plan and charged the hijackers and cockpit. Who knows where that plane (this is how you spell it suneagle) would have ended up that horrible day. You need to walk in someone’s shoes to truely know.

Suneagle have you finished smoking your crack yet??

  8. Age A • January 19, 2012 @ 11:24 AM

suneagle…WTF???!!! Have you ever read a book, seen a dictionary…or gone to school…ever? The fact that you must have a computer and you know how to type and hit the enter key astounds me…You must have stolen the computer because you have to have a semblence of intelligence to earn money to purchase one…and you have very little…your grammar, spelling, sentence structure and thoughts are moronic to say the least…who read the story to you? Get out of your mother’s basement and get back to school…

  9. JustaGirl • January 19, 2012 @ 11:43 AM

I guess he regrets opening his big mouth because he’s released an official apology. To suggest I would have done anything differently than the passengers on that plane was irresponsible. I deeply apologize to the families of the victims that my answer came off as insensitive, it was certainly not my intention.

    Smart move on his part…

  10. Carter • January 19, 2012 @ 12:07 PM

It seems like Suneagle is the only person who gets it so I have no problem forgiving his excited spelling and grammar.

The attacks on 9/11 were created to dupe the American people into attacking the Middle East and securing oil and military power. Don’t forget, Bush actually lost the election to Gore in 2000 and had the lowest approval rating of any new president. He needed something to secure the country’s support and to give him blind obedience. Turning the States into a war zone with Terror Alert levels and fearmongering was his path to two terms. Despite the choas, Bush still barely won the second time and had to steal Ohio to squeak in.

Anyone who doubts the involvement of the Presidential Office, the FBI and the CIA in 9/11 needs to wake up.

Wow, conpiracy theories came out of this article about some misspoken words by Mark Wahlberg. Talk about getting off topic.

As far as Mark, think if he were on that plane and he actually knew what was being planned, I’m sure he would have done something because he did have his kids with him and most parents would do something if the safety of their kids was questioned; however, the point is did anyone really know what was going to happen? Even the folks on the last flight didn’t react until they found out about the previous planes, but knowing the end result prompted them to react and Mark would have been right in there with them.

I am glad he apologized for his comments though, because it was a little hurtful to the families of those that died on the planes that day.

  12. Holla • January 19, 2012 @ 12:55 PM

Mark Wahlberg could’ve taken em…if anyone can do it Markie Mark can

  13. TheTruth • January 19, 2012 @ 1:22 PM

Obviously he would now that he’s done the fighter and learned how to box…

SUNEAGLE NOOOO!!! my pet peeve is grammarsss and speeling!!!

  14. My opinion • January 19, 2012 @ 1:37 PM

No one can predict how one will react when faced with a terrifying situation, whether having a gun or knife pointed at your face or seeing someone being killed in front of you, until it actually happens to you.

Its very noble for him to believe that this is the reaction Mark would have had in that situation but he would have hestitated like many others because when someone is faced with the possibility of death, the fear of loss of one’s life and the loss of those you love, like your kids and spouse, also dictates how you will react.

  15. christine • January 19, 2012 @ 1:45 PM

Ya sure in his Underwear. Isn’t that’s what he was doing in those days!! Maybe Superman, Batman Oh and maybe Bruce Willis could have helped him.

  16. Bunnie • January 19, 2012 @ 2:54 PM

Question is: now that they know what would most likely happen next time, would they still try to ‘co-operate’ with the terrorists? Or would they decide that they are not going down without a fight? Can’t predict the outcome, but at least it may increase their chances of survival.

  17. Wendy • January 19, 2012 @ 2:54 PM

Every once in a while you come across someone who believes enough in himself that he can defy the odds… Who knows….maybe such action could bring about a differant outcome…we will never know….and please God may we never have such a situation again.

  18. Rita • January 19, 2012 @ 5:52 PM

Some fathers might say what he said too. I admire him for saying that. I’ve Never been bothered on any plane flight. I Truly hope that stays that way. Because this is the scenario: anyone can bother or threaten anyone on the ground. BUT up there the more things happen, distractions get caused then Maybe the plane may crash, if there is Unnecessary harassment). You see if the bully threatens you up there then he’ll go down with the plane(if it happens). If we were on the ground he would simply run away. Not so in a plane. So I agree with Mr. Wahlbergh(Especially if one has Children & for other passengers) is to Do or die. If That’s what’s at stake! To me he Doesn’t have to apologize! He clearly said he’d protect his Children. Good for him. I’d feel Safe with him on a flight.

  19. Suneagle • January 19, 2012 @ 7:00 PM

Lmfao!! Wow great responses and yes I was excited typing that with my trusty IPhone and it’s crapy auto correct!! Hahah thx Linda Plane are you sure it’s not plain? Anyhow the rule still applies, the whole situation is questionable and where there is doubt there is conspiracy, also where there is no room for truth, there lies the growth of Conspiracy. Evil only dictates in the shadows, under the blanket of darkness. While Good intentions are spoken and done for all to see in Heavens light. If there is no Conspiracy then why all the questions? Give me a break and stop being naive. Preston Bush, bushes grandfather helped fund Hitlers Cause what makes you think Bush isn’t any different? Now on topic Mark shouldn’t have had to oppolgize all though it was thought full, but still. Anyone when faced with a life or death situation to protect there loved ones would of jumped the “So called terrorist” holding a plastic knife. At least one of the many people on the “Plane” (i think im speellingb it rite) would of took action “and not froze”! So My point still stands it makes no sense that NO ONE did anything that’s why I’m saying this was all “Staged”…
Plz wake up! Thx Carter 🙂

  20. Fraydeecat • January 19, 2012 @ 7:06 PM

It’s a coward who would take away the hero’s badge from the brave people on that plane who tried to overcome the terrorists and adorn himself with it instead when it’s so easy to spout your mouth off about what a hero you WOULD HAVE BEEN. Mark Wahlberg is only a hero in movies because that is the typecast of the role he’s usually hired for. In real life? Well…….as they say, talk is cheap. Who knows, maybe someday he’ll have the opportunity to put his children in the line of fire while he tries to prove himself a hero.

  21. Suneagle • January 20, 2012 @ 4:01 PM

Tribute, my bad spelling and grammar post was cut off. At the very least you could have proof read it for me…haha! Let’s try this again. Very important link to help wake the “Zombies” up (click on my name to get to it). Plz read and have fun. also may I add that bashing people about spelling or grammar is the only off topic discussion here! Once again Marc never intended nor did he “Take the badge” from those poor people who didn’t do anything during the flight.  He did however, apologize for saying that his actions or intentions would of been better than those poor people who never did anything on those planes.  I am sorry for the loss of those people, I really am. It can get very confusing for people that never believe or never could of imagined that something like that would have happened but as it was happening, my whole question to you all is, do you really think that not even one person would of tried to do something? Look at flight 93? I don’t know, maybe I am wrong. I really hope that the day never comes for any of us but let me tell you, if it happened to Marc and I, we wouldn’t hesitate to react! God Bless.
