Marvel fans will be excited to learn that the prolific superhero studio has just released a short teaser to confirm the highly anticipated Ant-Man and the Wasp is now in production.
Paul Rudd returns in the role of Scott Lang, otherwise known as the shrinkable superhero who packs a big punch — Ant-Man — with Evangeline Lilly as Hope van Dyne/The Wasp.
A sequel to the hit 2015 film Ant-Man, the second installment in the series adds Hollywood heavyweights Michelle Pfeiffer and Laurence Fishburne with others, such as Michael Douglas and Michael Peña, returning to reprise their roles.
The official synopsis for the film reads: “In the aftermath of “Captain America: Civil War,” Scott Lang (Rudd) grapples with the consequences of his choices as both a Super Hero and a father. As he struggles to rebalance his home life with his responsibilities as Ant-Man, he’s confronted by Hope van Dyne (Lilly) and Dr. Hank Pym (Douglas) with an urgent new mission. Scott must once again put on the suit and learn to fight alongside The Wasp as the team works together to uncover secrets from their past.”
Peyton Reed returns to direct the sequel, which has a screenplay written by Chris McKenna, Erik Sommers, Andrew Barrer, Gabriel Ferrari, and Paul Rudd. The film is being shot on location in San Francisco and Atlanta.
You can catch Ant-Man and the Wasp when it flies into theaters July 6, 2018.
