After being absent from the most recent Bourne film, The Bourne Legacy, which starred Jeremy Renner, Matt Damon announced he’s returning to the franchise as Jason Bourne. “It’ll be in 2016 when the movie will actually come out,” Matt told E! recently. “Paul Greengrass is going to do another one and that’s all I ever said. I just needed him to say yes.” Tony Gilroy, who co-wrote the screenplays for all four Bourne movies to date, also directed the last one.
Greengrass, who directed the second and third, will be back for the fifth one and wants Matt to return as the lead. It has not yet been announced who will write the screenplay for the new installment, or what the film will be titled, but there will undoubtedly be many Bourne fans happy about Matt’s return. ~Alexandra Heilbron
