Matthew McConaughey is tying the knot

The holidays were just a little extra special for Matthew McConaughey this year. The actor finally asked his longtime model girlfriend Camila Alves on Christmas Day to marry him. The couple first start dating in 2006 and already have two children together, three-year-old Levi and daughter, Vida, who turns two next month. McConaughey shared his exciting news via a post on his WhoSay account, which read, “just asked camila to marry me, merry Christmas,” followed by an adorable picture of the pair smooching in front of a Christmas tree.
The ring may have come as a bit of a surprise to Alves as she recently told OK magazine that they were in no rush to walk down the aisle. “We’ve got no plans right now,” she said. “We’re happy and good as we are. So far, so good!” But it was just a matter of timing for McConaughey, who has never held back about his feelings for his new wife. “I always wanted to be a father and thought it would be great, but it just took the right woman and the right time to make it all happen. [Camila] is the love of my life. Everything is right,” he told People magazine in 2008. “We’re a family now. I see the future and it’s clearer to me now.”
