Russian pop singer Oksana Pochepa, 24, has confirmed her romantic relationship with Mel Gibson, 53. She says she’s in love and is quoted in the British paper The Sun saying she “hopes our union will be real and strong and long-lasting.” She also admits she was the mystery bikini-clad brunette kissing Gibson on a Costa Rican beach in March. According to Us Weekly, Gibson, whose daughter, Hannah, is 29, met Pochepa in August when she was hired to compose a song for his upcoming film, Edge of Darkness. An onset source said they tried to hide their union. “They would come out and attempt to walk around separately, but then at the end of the day, they both returned to the same hotel,” revealed the source. “She was there on and off for a week, but it was clear she had no business there other than to be with Mel.” Pochepa is rumored to be the reason for Gibson and his wife’s divorce, even though divorce papers claim they’ve been separated since shortly after Mel’s DUI arrest in 2006. Gibson also has two 27-year-old sons (Edward and Christian), as well as Willie, 24, Louis, 21, Milo, 19 and Tommy, 10. ~Meryl H. As seen in issue #394 of Movie Mail.

He’s always claimed to be such a devote Catholic that’s why they had so many kids as they didn’t even believe in contraception. At least his wife saw the writing on the wall after the DUI and they were separated when he started this supposed new relationship. But for Catholic divorce means he can’t/isn’t welcome in his church anymore…guess that doesn’t matter to him now. Only mattered when he wanted so many kids.
His wife has earned more than half with raising all these kids and putting up with his cheating and drinking for years.

Nancy, God made the laws, men and women just changed them to suit themselves. I read my Bible and know that many of the stories there are about people who where not living by God’s laws. The stories are there to show us that God still loves us humans even when we go against his will. However, God doesn’t leave us there (doing our own thing), He loves and corrects and holds up the ideal…which in this case is loving, monogomous relationships that should be cherished within marriage. Separation and divorce were never God’s ideal for humans.
I object to mayfairgirl’s comments more than the couple’s actions. They have to deal with being judged by narrow minded people like her, sexist prude that she is.

Gibson has been under so much bad press for so long, and he has been separated for over 2 years from his wife; can’t you all just let it go! It’s hard to say what’s right and wrong as far as being married and having a wife. They’re getting a divorce, and that can take SO long, especially if someone isn’t being cooperative. I think there can be concessions made in cases like this, especially if they’ve been separated for years.
And, if two people are in love and are adults, why shouldn’t they be together. My mom is 12 years older than my dad and he married her at 20. They’ve been happily married for 20 years. Is that wrong or gross? Obviously not.
Demigod – Mel and his wife were married long before he became famous,his kids some of them are in their twenties. He had nothing when they married so why would he get his wife to sign a prenuptial. She stayed with him because of her religion RC another reason they have so many kids. Who knows why and when this marriage fell apart, she probably had enough of his crap.
They met after his success of Mad Max. She never had to work a day in her life other than raise kids. A woman’s ideal. She’ll be taken care of for the rest of her life. That kind of crap?
I “hear” she’s been into buying and selling real estate the past few years now. I wonder if the decision to be a stay-at-home mom all those years was her decision alone? My thoughts, not that some of you would care, but:
1. God is an important part of this. Mel, a few years back, maybe around his Mad Max days, was very open about being Catholic and how he and his family attended Church. Our morals, no matter what some of you say above, were founed and based on the ten commandments.
2. Mel screwed up. We don’t know what his wife did, or if she bares any fault, or maybe cheated on Mel. But my gut says that being pregnant, giving birth and raising 7 children says that she has done a lot of beneficial things for the family.
3. You are all talking about the marriage to his wife. Don’t forget the 7 children he fathered. They must be mortified. He did this to them as well as his wife. He destroyed the family unit! That is not cool.
Just because someone is not filthy rich does not mean that they “marry a nobody and have nothing”, LOL. Maybe deep down she wanted a career, but put her own life on the back burner to accommodate the rest of the family!
