Michael Cera afraid of girls

By Alexandra Heilbron on August 25, 2010 | 10 Comments

Michael Cera admits he is terrified of teenage girls. The actor shot to fame after appearing in Superbad and Juno. During his career, he has played a string of nerdy guys who struggle with women. Michael can currently be seen playing the title role in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World and insists he’s just as geeky in real life. The 22-year-old Canadian is still adjusting to fame and admits he finds it overwhelming when he hears young girls screaming his name. “Teenage girls are scary — they always will be,” Michael told FILMCLUB. “And after they grow up, there will be a whole new breed of teenage girls being scary.” Michael’s co-star Jason Schwartzman sympathizes, but says his life isn’t exciting enough to have the same problem. “It would be scary to be yelled at and chased, but I think that my personal life is so boring that if thousands of screaming girls did follow me, they would quickly want to get out of there,” Jason said. “They would probably start asking how long one person could stay inside a book store.”

    Yeah, I don’t think he’s into girls.

Ummmm….. did he ever say he was terrified of girls? He’s just freaked out by stupid, crazy teenaged fans.

I don’t like Michael Cera, he’s not a very good actor. When he acts, it’s like he’s playing the same person over and over again. He needs to drop the dorky nerdy movie roles, and do something different.

It’s not necessarily his fault if he’s type-cast for his movies, it’s what the majority of people want and expect from him.

If he was to play a James Bond type character, the nerdy aspect would still be a subliminal thing because that’s who he is.

PS I thought he was the best in Arrested Development. 🙂

its just like how angelina jolie plays all action movies, jennifer anniston all romantic comedies, steve carell all comedies etc. people pick what they like to do and do it, whats the big deal?

I look at actors like music, there are different “genres” of music and there are different “Styles” of actors/actresses. Mr. Cera does a good job at being that odd but funny type. If you dont like it then dont watch it just the same as not liking a certain genre of music.
    OOO and Scott Pilgram ROCKED!!

I’m a girl and I’m terrified of teenage girls, and most guys, they’re all frucked up narcissists. But Michael Cera is a nice guy, he’s more or less the ideal boyfriend: he can give you everything you need and you don’t have to worry about him, he’ll always be there.
