David Fincher's Mank leads Critics Choice Awards
The 26th annual Critics Choice Awards nominations in the film category were announced Monday morning (February 8, 2021). David Fincher‘s Mank leads with 12 nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director and Gary Oldman for Best Actor. This was followed by Minari with 10 nominations and Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom with eight.

Promising Young Woman, One Night In Miami, The Trial of the Chicago 7, and Nomadland also scored multiple nominations for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Screenplay and in the acting categories as well.

Several actors who didn’t get a nomination at the Golden Globes and SAG Awards announced last week were up for nods. Ellen Burstyn for Pieces of a Woman, Zendaya for Malcolm & Marie, Delroy Lindo for Da 5 Bloods and Paul Raci for Sound of Metal were among those recognized.

The Critics Choice Awards will air on The CW on Sunday, March 7. Due to the pandemic, the show will have an “in-person/virtual hybrid” format with Taye Diggs returning to host from Los Angeles. Check out the complete list of nominations below. ~Marriska Fernandes
