Hunter Killer – When a rogue general kidnaps the Russian President in an effort to start World War III, U.S. submarine commander Joe Glass (Gerard Butler) teams up with the U.S. Navy Seals to rescue the President and prevent the onset of another devastating global conflict. Johnny English Strikes Again – Retired spy Johnny English (Rowan Atkinson) is called back into the field by MI7 when the identities of several British undercover agents are leaked. He teams up with his old crew, including his sidekick Bough (Ben Miller), to travel to the south of France and locate the mastermind hacker. Click here for showtimes.

Mid90s – Stevie (Sunny Suljic), 13, joins a gang of older teenage skateboarders when his home life becomes too unsatisfying to bear. Now a part of their group, the young boy begins to adapt himself to their ways and tries to prove himself worthy of their friendship, while attempting to stay afloat in their troubling world of sex, drugs and dangerous stunts. Can You Ever Forgive Me? – Author Lee Israel (Melissa McCarthy) has fallen out of the spotlight and needs something big to push her back into it again. She begins a lucrative scam with her friend Jack (Richard E. Grant) by forging hundreds of letters purportedly written by luminaries like Dorothy Parker, and then selling these as “memorabilia” to dealers across America. Bel Canto – A famous American opera singer named Roxanne Coss (Julianne Moore) performs a private concert in South America for rich Japanese industrialist Katsumi Hosokawa (Ken Watanabe) on his birthday. The performance is cut short when Hosokawa’s home is taken over by guerrillas who demand the release of their imprisoned comrades. Opening in Toronto, Kelowna, Winnipeg, Edmonton, Whitby and Saskatoon, then expands to other cities through November. Click here for showtimes.

What They Had – Bridget (Hilary Swank) returns home when her mother Ruth (Blythe Danner), who suffers from Alzheimer’s, wanders off during a snowstorm. Her brother Nicky (Michael Shannon) doesn’t have the patience to take care of Ruth and resents the responsibility that has been placed on him, believing she should be put in a nursing home instead.
