New Movies in Theaters – Insidious: The Last Key

There are some fantastic movies opening today, including the new horror film, Insidious: The Last Key. Also opening wide after a limited release last month is the drama Molly’s Game. Releasing in limited release today are The Post starring Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks, and Phantom Thread, starring Daniel Day-Lewis.

Insidious: The Last Key – Paranormal investigator Elise Rainier (Lin Shaye) comes out of retirement and teams up with Specs (Leigh Whannell) and Tucker to return to her hometown in New Mexico. There, they confront the presence that’s been tirelessly haunting her. Click here for showtimes.

Molly’s Game – Former Olympic skier Molly Bloom (Jessica Chastain) runs an exclusive high-stakes poker game. Because of her ties to the Russian mob, when she’s arrested by the FBI, she’s offered immunity in exchange for information that will bring down the mob. Opens wide today. Click here for showtimes.

The Post – The Washington Post publisher Kay Graham (Meryl Streep) and her driven editor, Ben Bradlee (Tom Hanks), work to expose the government’s true reason for involving itself in the Vietnam War, which was explained via the controversial Pentagon Papers. Phantom Thread – Reynolds Woodcock (Daniel Day-Lewis) is a famous dressmaker living in 1950s London, England. He has his life nailed down to a science and is very meticulous with his day-to-day routine, but all this is thrown into the air when he encounters a fiery young woman named Alma. Opens today in Toronto only; expands Jan 19.
