joy-blu-rayMuch like last week’s batch of DVD releases, this week’s list verges on the shorter side but certainly doesn’t lack in star power. Leading the pack is Joy, the David O. There’s also The Choice, which is based on a 2007 Nicholas Sparks novel; the Chloë Grace Moretz sci-fi picture The 5th Wave; and the Canadian drama Endorphine~Matthew Pariselli

Joy is the true-story account of Joy Mangano (Jennifer Lawrence), a woman stuck in a dead-end job, with debt up to her eyeballs. She shares a house with her divorced parents, her grandmother and her ex-husband. She decides something has to change, so she comes up with an idea for a new product and launches her own business. Directed by David O. Russell, the film also stars Robert De Niro and Bradley Cooper.
