Minions dominated the box office last weekend. In a summer full of heavy hitting blockbusters, it may be difficult for the little yellow creatures to hold the top spot at the box office again this weekend. Take a look at the movies opening in theaters today.
Ex-con Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) is trying to turn over a new leaf. After failing to keep a minimum wage job following his release from prison, he agrees to be part of one big robbery that will give him the ability to start his life again. When he gets inside the safe he’s supposed to rob, all he finds is a bizarre suit. He puts the suit on and presses a button that instantly shrinks him to the size of an ant. Not long after, the owner of the suit recruits Scott to his cause and convinces him to become a hero know as Ant-Man. Opens in wide release. Click here for showtimes.

In Trainwreck, Amy (Amy Schumer) is a magazine writer. While growing up, she’s told by her bitter, divorced father that monogamy isn’t realistic. She spends most of her adult life sleeping around and running from any sort of committed relationship. On assignment, Amy meets a new guy, Aaron (Bill Hader), who completely sweeps her off her feet. Amy will re-examine her stance on monogamy and possibly let herself give love a shot. Opens in wide release. Click here for showtimes.

Sherlock Holmes (Ian McKellen) is back in Mr. Holmes. After reminiscing about his past, the great detective becomes nostalgic and comes out of retirement to work once again. He tries to solve one final crime, while writing down his memories in an attempt to clear up some of the many misconceptions that exist around him and his legacy. Two 4 One tells the story of transgendered man Adam (Gavin Crawford), who helps his baby-crazy ex-girlfriend Miriam (Naomi Snieckus) artificially inseminate. The two end up getting in bed together and both get pregnant. Adam must learn to cope with his gender reality and deal with the challenges before him. Opens in Toronto and on iTunes.
