New trailer for Harry Potter fan-made prequel released

Author J.K. Rowling may have just finished the script for her upcoming film Fantastic Beasts 2, but there is another film in the Wizarding World that is gathering quite the buzz lately. Voldemort: Origins of the Heir, is a new fan-made film that aims to depict the darker side of the Harry Potter universe.

The studio behind the movie, Tryangle Films, has released the debut trailer for Voldemort: Origins of the Heir, which is inspired by the novel Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. The story follows the life of Tom Riddle, who graduates from Hogwarts and goes on to become Lord Voldemort, the main antagonist in the series.

In the film, a witch named Grisha finds trouble when Hepzibah Smith is found murdered. Hepzibah was a collector of magical antiques like Hufflepuff’s cup and Salazar Slytherin’s locket, which dark wizard Tom Riddle uses to create two of his Horcruxs, before killing her afterward.

While Rowling’s new films focus more on the creatures from the Harry Potter universe, this film looks to add more to the actual Harry Potter lore, with several references to the prior movies and books that have been put out.

In a statement released to BuzzFeed, the company has said they have an agreement with Warner Bros. that will allow them to release the film, though Warner has yet to confirm. The movie is scheduled to release on YouTube in Fall 2017. ~Brenden Zerihun

Not just YouTube please! Get it into the theatres soon. I really want to see this movie as I enjoyed this preview. But keep it to starting on the big screen. Don’t sell out. And when will the book come out for both Fantastic Beasts 2 and this Voldemort show.
